Chapter 1 Doubt

"Erika you never make time for me, how can you be mad that I'm busy this one time!" Jake shouted,
The two lovers were in Jake's room, both standing yelling at one another, which was very contrast,
to their loving previous night.

"Go, just go then, don't worry about me" Erika said sitting down on Jake's bed folding her arms, she heard Jake
groan out in frustration, "Do you want me to cancel my meeting?" Jake asked her frowning,
"No, go" Erika said looking away from Jake when ever he tried to look at her, "Erika, stop pouting,
I have to go, I'd stay home if I could" Jake said trying to kiss her cheek, but she pushed his face away,
"Don't be mad baby" Jake said trying to kiss her again, but she stood up, turning her back to him,
Jake sighed hugging her from behind while she still stood stiff, folding her arms.

"I'll be home soon" Jake told her kissing her cheek, "Sure, then be too tired for me, I swear you've been staying out
later and later" Erika commented, starting to get more suspicious as she spoke, "I have to work" Jake told her,
"Then go work" Erika spat, Jake sighed before letting her go, "I'll see you later Rik" Jake said before closing the door to his room after walking out. Erika did a loud frustrated sigh before sitting back down on the bed,
she was irritated with not having Jake's attention lately, but now she was even more upset with him being gone
with thoughts racing through her mind, wondering just what Jake was actually doing when he was out for hours
in the day, and more importantly at night...

Erika decided to go out and try to get her mind off of Jake, so she ended up leaving Jake's mansion
going to work out instead, after she'd gotten done and was about to head home, she got a call from her cousin; Lauren.
"Erika? Are you okay?" Lauren asked sounding a bit worried, "Yeah? Why wouldn't I be?" Erika asked frowning
as she slung a towel around her shoulders to stop the sweat, "I was just checking...You haven't gotten any strange
phonecalls have you?" Lauren asked, making Erika start to get a little nervous, "No...What's actually going on?
Stop being so weird" Erika said gripping her phone nervously, "I didn't mean to scare you...I just found out your ex got
your phone number, he was trying to call me, and some other friends before talking to you" Lauren told her,
then heard Erika sigh relaxing a bit, "Geez girl, you scared me- how the heck did he get my number?" Erika asked,
"It wasnt't me!" Lauren quickly confirmed, "Well did you find out what he wants?" Erika asked, as she started to leave the gym, getting into her car.

"You, obviously" Lauren said with a scoff, "I don't have time for this" Erika said already annoyed, "Well just block him again" Lauren suggested, "I will, if he calls. Geez Lauren, first Jake, now I have I deal with this" Erika complained, "What happend with Jake?" Lauren questioned, "I don't know, he's been really busy lately, leaving for hours and stuff
I just got done fighting with him about it' Erika confessed, "Hm, did he say what he's busy doing?" Lauren asked,
"No, not exactly, he just says meetings when I asked him" Erika told her, "I'm surprised at you" Lauren said,
"What do you mean?" Erika asked frowning, "You let him get away with that? You have no idea where your boyfriend
is for hours, and that doesn't seem a little suspicious to you?" Lauren questioned her making Erika get suspicious all
over again, "I mean he said he's working..." Erika said quietly, only to hear her cousin scoff in her ear again, "Oldest excuse in the book! Wow Erika, I didn't think you'd be played so easily" Lauren said, "I'm not being played!" Erika shouted, there was silence between the two cousins for a while before Lauren spoke up again, "No reason to get mad at me, I was only trying to help you..." Lauren said quietly, "I'm not mad at you...I'm just frustrated" Erika told her with a sigh, "Its gonna be alright Erika" Lauren tried to assure her, "I hope so" Erika said feeling her stomach quiver with nerves, thinking of Jake with another girl...

Erika soon got back to her apartment with Lauren and Kelly and started editing footage, and overall just chilling with her two friends, but still, Erika couldn't stop thinking about Jake, and who he was with. As the hours ticked by Erika
got more and more nervous, her nerves turning to anger thinking about how dumb she'd been to trust Jake, when he couldn't even give her a good excuse as to where he was going.

Erika sat in her room alone, it was much later, and she planned on just calling Jake to yell at him for cheating,
but she got a phonecall instead, which she quickly answered.

"What?!" Erika shouted into the phone, "Whoa, what's the matter with you?" The voice answered, Erika's eyes widened
hearing the familiar voice, she instantly started stuttering unsure what to say as she was caught by surprise.
"Erika, what happened, is everything okay?" The voice asked with a slight laugh, "I'm fine...I just, what do you want?" Erika asked her voice still surprised, "I wanted to speak with you- I know things haven't been that good between us,
but that shouldn't destroy our good time's should it?" He asked, "I guess not" Erika mumbled, "You've always been a sensible kindhearted girl Erika, I thought you'd see it that way- how about we meet up?" He asked, "I don't know about
that..." Erika said biting her lip, "Come on, we'll just have a little talk about the past, maybe something to eat...something to drink, and rekindle a friendship, that ended much too quickly" He told her smoothly,
Erika was nervously jittering, but she decided to take him up on his offer. *Its just catching up with a 'old friend'
and besides, Jake's always busy anyways...* Erika thought, "Okay" Erika said carefully into the phone,
"Okay?" He asked in shocked happiness, "Yeah, I'll meet up at your place" Erika assured, "You won't regret it Costell" He said.
