Chapter 6 Baby Daddy

"Brooo! I don't believe this- admit its a prank!" Logan said his eyes huge, as he looked at his smug younger brother
whom was he was on facetime with.

"Its not a prank Logan, let me prove it" Jake said opening a ring box, revealing a shimmering engagment ring for his brother to see. "Whoa! Your serious bro! That looks expensive" Logan said whistling, moving closer to his phone
to see the ring better, "How much did it set you back bro?" He asked, "It was like $80,000" Jake announced,
"Bro, you went IN!" Logan exclaimed, "Like dang bro, can I marry you?" He joked, Jake laughed before closing the
ring box back up.

"I'm gonna ask her to marry me tomorrow night, we're going The CheeseCake Factory, and I'm gonna do it
in the resturant" Jake said, "Sounds lit bro" Logan said nodding, then he grinned sneakily, "What if she says no?"
He asked, "Shut up bro" Jake told him, "You nervous?" Logan asked chuckling, "No, me and Erika have a connection,
of course she'll say yes" Jake said with confidence, Logan laughed looking at Jake, "Well, joking aside, I'm proud of you Jake, and I can't wait to see the wedding" Logan said grinning, "Thanks Logan, this is going to be so dope" Jake
said a smile stuck on his face as he thought of Erika, "Goodluck" Logan said, before they hung up,
Jake looked at the ring once more before putting the box away in his drawer, attempting to hide it from Erika until
time.

"Yo, Chance" Jake said coming to his and Anthony's gaming room, "Whats up bro?" Chance asked,
"Come with me, I got some shopping to do" Jake said, "Jake..." Chance whined still looking at his game,
"Bro, this is a big moment for me, I got to get some lit new clothes for when I propose, and get things for the baby" Jake told him, Chance couldn't help but smirk hearing how excited Jake was to be busy for his new family.
"Okay, okay, I'm off" Chance said rolling back from his computer, taking off his headset
walking to Jake.

"Let's hit the skreets bro!" Jake said grabbing his keys before leaving with Chance.

Erika sat beside Lauren in the quiet, neat little waiting room of a hospital, waiting on going in to get her test results regarding her pregnancy. Erika was nibbling her nails, as she lightly shook from being nervous,
while Lauren was on her phone, She was on edge whenever she heard some footsteps, thinking it was the doctor for her.

For the DNA test, they said any sample of fluid, hair, or skin from the suspected father would help them determine
if it was his child or not. Erika staying in Jake's room so often, had no trouble getting a sample after Jake was gone,
to sneak out to the hospital with her, the waiting game was tearing her apart, and she thought about leaving
plently of times, but decided it wouldn't be fair if she didn't find out for sure.

"Ms.Costell" Erika heard a Doctor speak as She walked in, holding some papers. "That's m-me" Erika said standing up,
Lauren stood with her, and the Doctor smiled, leading them away with her. "Right this way girls" She said,
showing them where they could sit after she brought them into her cozy office. "First off how we feelin' today?"
The Doctor asked, "I'm fine" Lauren replied, "Um, nervous, confused" Erika said, "That's perfectly natural...Now then,
my name is Ms.Gray, and I will be your Midwifery- if you decide to keep the child after I give you these results" She said, "So they're ready then?" Erika asked her her voice holding the fear, that had buried into her heart,
"Yes they are Ms.Costell" Ms.Gray told her, Lauren squeezed Erika's shoulder for comfort, but that didn;t help Erika's poundin heart, as goosebumps ran up her arms.

"Are you ready to hear who yo Baby daddy is?" Ms.Gray asked arching her eyebrows, "I...I suppose" Erika said trying to brace herself, as Lauren's grip on her got tighter, "Okay girl" Ms.Gray said, before opening he envelope holding the test results, as she started to read the name off, Erika's eyes widened, her chest tightening as the words left the Doctor's lips. Erika felt as though her world was crashing down, she felt sick, her fear making her blood run cold,
as she heard who the father of her child was.

Lauren grabbed Erika in a tight embrace, as Erika felt her eyes burn with tears, trying hard not to start sobbing.
"Baby girl, don't cry now" Ms.Gray said empathticly, watching Erika, "Did the man split from you and your baby, huh?"
Ms.Gray asked frowning, "The father isn't who she's dating" Lauren whispered, "Oh" Ms.Gray said nodding in understanding, "What a-am I go-gonna do?" Erika asked, her voice trembling, "You gonna get it together, don't worry" Ms.Gray said patting Erika's shoulder, giving her a reassuring smile, before leaving the office to give the Cousin's
some space.

*What have I done?!* Erika thought holding her face, "You've gotta tell him Erika" Lauren said, making Erika whip her head up, "No way! I can't do it, what will he say, what will he do?!" Erika asked sounding scared, "Well whatever he says, or does, you'll just have to get over, cause you can't hide this big of a secret" Lauren told her, Erika listened on
still terrified, "Its gonna start showing soon Erika, he's going to know your pregnant...You've already started getting a little morning sickness" Lauren told her, "Fine" Erika said standing up, "But I'll tell him when the times right,
I did it, I should be the one to confess" Erika said wiping away her tears, Lauren stood up with her hugging her tightly,
before they walked out, saying goodbye to Ms.Gray before leaving the hospital full of anxiety.
