Chapter 10 Closer losing Composure

The months just seemed to tick by, as Jake and Erika were consumed with getting a room ready for the baby, as well as getting everything prepared for the Wedding, all that plus keeping up with work, Erika had been missing days vlogging, while Jake kept up videos for the both of them so Erika could relax. While Jake was just getting prepared for being a Husband and a Father, Erika was trying to get prepared to tell Jake it wasn't his child, but she always seemed to chicken out,
or get involved with all the craziness surrounding the child and wedding, Family had already started flying out, her mother and mother-in-law, helping her along with her pregnancy
giving her tips, while everyone else was just around soaking up the exciting moment for the Paul's and Costell's merging as one.

"You can at least try" Lauren said, her and Erika were sitting in Jake's room, while Jake was out working, and their relatives were downstairs, since Erika said she had a 'headache' and needed to rest. "It'd probably be best if I did right, I mean, just to get ready incase things go sour with Jake" Erika said looking down at her phone, "I'll dial for you" Lauren said plucking Erika's phone out of her hand, starting to dial Erika's ex, while Erika nervously tapped her extended
belly; she was at least eight months pregnant now, and experiencing all symptoms. As Erika
watched her cousin call her ex, she went down memory lane, thinking of how Jake had been so sweet, to stay up with her when she was in pain, comfort her when she was crying from mood-swings, rub her stomach when she was nauseous, or hold her hair back when she vomited,
he never left her side, unless absolutely necessary for work. Erika smiled a bittersweet smile,
thinking of  all the times Jake talked to her stomach trying to communicate with who he thought was his baby, she never could have guessed Jake would have been so good with her, and 'their' unborn baby.

"Hello?" Erika heard a males voice, she jumped a little, before remembering, *This isn't Jake's child, you slept with someone else, and now you have to see if their gonna own up to being a father*. "Hey" Erika responded nervously to her ex, whom was on speaker, the phone between her and her cousin, "Your calling me again? I guess you liked catching up" He spoke with a smarmy attitude, "Um, this is actually about when we met up" Erika muttered, "Well what about it?" He asked with a curious tone, "How do you feel about being a father?" Erika asked
nervously, she heard him gasp a bit before starting to laugh, "You almost had me there Costell,
you aren't pregnant, are you?" He questioned still chuckling, "She actually is!" Lauren snapped,
"Whoa, what's with all this aggression? Its not my fault it happened" He responded defensively,
"Its your child" Erika said, "But I'm not carrying it, so I guess it isn't" He laughed.

Erika gasped, her heart aching, as her eyes heated, "What do you mean! Don't you think you should own up to what you've done!" She yelled her voice slightly starting to break, realizing the huge mistake she'd made, "You're making good money, why should I have to do anything?
We both said yes to hooking up, I got stuck with sweet smelling sheets and you got stuck with a baby- tough luck" He said, his attitude nonchalant and smarmy.
"You freakin' suck, you no good trash heap! I honestly hope you suffer alone!" Lauren screamed into the phone, while Erika just sat back stunned.

"Why am I the bad guy?" Erika's ex complained, "If you can't tell by now, you really are a clueless bonehead, and I hate your guts" Lauren said bitterly before shutting the phone off,
she quickly engulfed Erika in a hug, whispering about how sorry she was that happened,
and her ex was still such a jerk.

"Erika, Lauren? Are you girls alright?" Angel asked knocking on the door, Erika wiped her eyes looking at the door, "We're fine mom" Erika said sounding a bit stuffy, "You don't sound like it...I heard a lot of shouting up here" Angel said frowning skeptically, "We're here to help you honey" Pam chimed in, "We'll be out soon, Erika was just getting emotional over a business deal- being pregnant and all" Lauren quickly tried to cover for her, Erika thanked her quietly.
