Chapter 26 Please Be Okay

Foot steps pacing the marble floor was the only sound heard for hours since
everyone arrived at the hospital.The smell of lisol wafting through the air, the small room was quiet,
blood seemed to run cold, as everyone held their breath, the slightest
noise putting them on edge, even though they wanted to put their trust
in the Doctor's hands, their brains kept telling them all wasn't well...

Chance and Anthony had wanted to ride in the ambulance with Jake, but were
told not to because of emergency procedures that might have to be done on the way,
so the two drove there instead, following the ambulance, while Nick stayed back
to alert the rest of the team, plus Logan, about Jake being in the hospital,
they too arrived after Chance and Anthony, but none had been granted access into
Jake's room yet, so they sat...Sat and waited for news. We're they too late?
Was Jake's artery slit already? Did he bleed out? All questions wrecking everyones brains.

"I still don't know how you let this happened" Nick muttered making Chance sink in his chair,
"It was a acciden-" Chance tried to say, "Don't try to defend yourself" Kade said bitterly,
"Hey, hey" Logan said his voice deeper then normal, he got the teams attention from his commanding voice.
"Don't start pointing the finger just yet" Logan said, "How can ya say that? He's your own brother!" Nick said baffled, "If Jake doesn't make it, Chance will join him, how about that?" Logan said coldly staring into Chance's shocked and slightly scared eyes, before adjusting his shades on and gazing out the window.

Chance had his head down, his stomach churning after hearing that, guilty fear washing over him
as the room was once again silent the tension thick, suddenly Chance felt a pat on his shoulder,
he quickly looked up thinking it was Logan.
"Hey, chill out, I hope Jake makes it, but if he doesn't, everyone will be too devastated to try and hurt you" Anthony said with a comforting grin, Chance looked back at him with gratitude, but still felt a errie air over him, hearing Anthony's creepy assurance that he'd be okay.

"I'm gonna get a snack, you guys want anything?" Chad asked getting up, "You bloody sick man, how can you eat at a time like this?" Nick questioned bitterly, "Your friend and boss could be dead, and your gonna stuff your face?" Logan asked staring at him, "Hey, some people make jokes when people die, some get comfort food, guess we're just two different people" Chad said with a shrug and smirk, noticing his jab irked Logan,
as Logan was about to come confront Chad, and Kade was standing to break it up, the door swung open
a doctor standing there.

"Are you all for Mr.Paul?" He asked, he rest of squad stood up looking at him intensly,
"Come right this way, I'd like to first say I'm sorry, and ask for the faint of heart to stay put" The Doctor added before walking out, the team exchanged glances, before following the Doctor out.

"Yes, on the news tonight, a siren wailing ambulance was seen going to Mr.Paul Jake's mansion,
just hours earlier" A news reporter spoke, "Huh? Hey Erika come in here!" Lauren shouted,
she had been laying on the couch watching T.V while she waited for her microwave dinner to
get done when the news knocked her right out of her daze.

Erika came in holding Jackie, a puzzled look on her face, "Wha-?" Erika was questioning before Lauren interrupted, "Shut up, and sit down!" She told her, Erika quickly sat on the couch, still rocking Jackie
as she stared at the T.V

"I'm right in the neighborhood where it happened. Mr.Paul's workers, friends, and even his brother
were spotted leaving the property following the ambulance, or racing from their location
to get to the hospital" The reporter spoke, "Now nothing has been confirmed, but people
would only assume that Mr.Jake Paul, was the one in need of a ambulance, let's talk to some of the neighbors
just minutes away from the beautiful gated mansion" She said going on to talk to some people,
who started to speak about how confused or scared they were seeing the ambulance.

"Oh my gosh...." Erika gasped, feeling her chest heat up, and her eyes start to burn,
"Just what the heck happened?" Lauren asked clearly puzzled as she turned to her cousin
who stared in fear.

"I have no idea...He seemed fine when I saw him-" Erika said before catching herself,
Lauren squinted her eyes, "When you saw him? Erika have you been leaving me with the baby,
to mess around with your ex!?" Lauren questioned, "Well- Okay, yes, but it was a accident,
I was using 'Ebony' to get back into modeling, ended up running into Jake, and he asked me out,
I couldn't say no, he was helping me gain followers and stuff" Erika confessed,
Lauren was about to scold her, but Erika spoke up.

"That's not the most important issue here! Jake's in the hospital- now if you'll excuse me" Erika said putting Jackie in her high-chair, before leaving into her bedroom,
"What are you doing?" Lauren asked going to the bedroom door hearing things getting thrown around,
she didn't get a response from Erika until the door opened up again revealing 'Ebony'.

"I'm gonna go see Jake- and I know what your gonna say, but save it for later, he needs me" 'Ebony' said,  kissing Jackie whom giggled in response, before she left the apartment slamming the door shut,
leaving Lauren in shock.
