Chapter 47 New Love, Same Mistake?

"Why are you talking about Jake and I?" Erika questioned raising her eyebrow, "Jackie is starting to call him dad, its going to be horrible explaining your situation to her when she's older" Chance said, "I'm surprised you care about her" Erika said frowning, Chance sighed, "Maybe you two didn't like me in your business, but if it wasn't for you screwing up, I wouldn't have tried to help" Chance said with snarky tone,
"Listen if your just gonna try and scold me, for stuff that happened way too long ago, I'm out" Erika said
rolling her eyes before she turned to leave, Chance grabbed her by her wrist, making her turn her head to face him.

"Take your hand off me" Erika said through gritted teeth, "Erika hold it, I just want to ask you a question" Chance said still sounding a bit irritated himself, Erika snatched her wrist away from him, she pressed her back against the door, her arms folded as she looked at him, "You can ask from there" Erika informed him,
"Whatever," Chance sighed running his fingers through his hair before speaking, "Do you still think about Jake at all?" Chance finally asked his voice a little more gentle then before, Erika was caught by surprise for a moment, before she spoke, "Of course, if you mean what I think you do....There probably isn't a day that goes by, that I don't" Erika told him, sounding a little offended he even asked,
"You should say something..." Chance mumbled, Erika in confusion, was about to question why, assuming Chance
didn't want her in his bestfriends life, and that Jake had another girl, but a voice stopped their conversation.

"Yo, Erika! Chance! Its almost time for the countdown, where you at??" Logan shouted, Chance and Erika met each others eyes briefly, both a little unsure of each other, but without words, they just made it back to the main room.

The rest of the team, along with some friends were there, all looking at the tv waiting for the count down,
some holding noise makers, camera's were at different angles to catch the moment, as everyones smiling faces were lit up.

Erika looked through the crowd, seeing Jake was holding Jackie up on his shoulders, while her eyes were going everywhere soaking in the excitement of the party, Erika couldn't fully enjoy seeing her daughter so happy with Jake, since she herself couldn't help but think about Jake having a new girl, and her having to someday explain to Jackie, that 'dada/jaja' wasn't her actual father.

Erika's stomach sunk as couples got closer as the count down started.

"10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1!"

"Happy NewYear!" The party erputed into noise makers, and cheering, as people grabbed their partners, kissing them deeply, Erika without much thought, completly acting on emotions, her jealousy taking over her mind, she pushed past people, quickly getting in front of Jake, she grabbed him by his face taking him by surprise, his mouth was even still open from cheering, and right then and there, she kissed him,
roughly, deeply, passion and jealousy driving her actions, trying to show any other female in the building, who Jake belonged to.

The world seemed to fade away for a few minutes bliss taking over, before Erika pulled away from the heated kiss, hearing some gasps around them getting louder.
"E-Erika?" Jake questioned in shock his eyes wide, Erika studied his surprised beautiful eyes, before she bolted out of the room heading out the front door, completely embarassed for acting like such a jealous, love-sick fool.

"Erika!" Jake shouted, he quickly took Jackie off his shoulders, giving her to Logan, before he rushed after Erika. *I'm not letting you get away again* Jake thought, as he quickened his pace, remembering how torn up he felt last time, when Erika left at the alter the other year.
