"So Fury, what is the Avengers?" I asked.
"A team of extraordinary individuals," he replied. "Its purpose is to protect world stability from inner or extraterrestrial threats, and to work with the peaceful interests of the whole world rather than a specific country or organization." he continued.
I nodded, "So, who else is on the team?" I asked.
"They are already here, go ahead and meet them," he said as he stopped in front of a meeting room. "After you,"
I walked in, I can't believe myself, have I always been so lucky? It's Tony Stark right in front of me.
" A new member?" a man beside Tony asked.
"Yes Bruce, this is Lily Miller, can everyone introduce themselves please," Fury replied.
I took a step forward, " Erm, hi guys, I'm Lily Miller, just call me Lily will do. Nice to meet all of you," I smiled.
"Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America," Steve started first.
"Everyone knows who I am," Tony said.
"Oh come on, not everyone, I'm Bruce Banner by the way," Bruce turns to Tony.
"Alright fine, I'm Iron Man or you may have seen me on television as Tony Stark," Tony replied, slightly rolling his eyes. I must admit I am tempted to punch him in the face.
"I'm Natasha Romanoff, a former Russian spy, also known as Black Widow," Natasha said.
"So, what are your skills?" Tony asked, with his arms folded.
"She's a mutant," Nick replied.
"Except not quite," I cut him off, "I can control the dark, that includes shadow," I continued.
"That's going to be handy while going against a god," Tony mumbled.
"I'm sorry?" I questioned. Against a god? Do they even exist?
"Loki is his name, he does some kind of spell that makes people listen to him, currently there's an astrophysicist Erik Selvig and one of our agent, Clint Barton aka Hawkeye," Natasha responded.
"...Right." I nod my head, Maybe I was hiding for too long, I mean if they said magic I would have believed, but gods? What's next? Aliens?
"Whatever his plans are, we have to stop him," Steve stood up. "Also, welcome to the team," He shook my hand. I smiled. "Thank you, Captain,"
"We're missing one person here," Nick continued.
"Right, Thor said he'll be back soon, I'm not sure how long is his 'soon'," Bruce replied. "Thor is the god of thunder," Bruce told me. My eyes widen, "Like in the Norse mythology?" I asked. Is he for real? I love both Norse and Greek mythology, but I would never have imagined them to be real.
"Kind of," He replied.
"Currently we have Loki in the cell," Steve continued, "However they are still in control, there's this thing call the Scepter, it controls people's mind, and also the Tesseract, it teleports people,"
I gave a slight nod if the Norse mythology is right, then Loki is the god of mischief.
"We aren't sure where he kept it, we tried to ask but you know, that guy's brain is a bag full of cats, you can smell crazy in him, even if he did say we never know if he's saying the truth," Bruce added.
"Among all your powers, can you manipulate the mind?" Tony asked.
"I can, however, I've never tried it on a god, plus, if he is according to the Norse mythology, then as the god of mischief, he's a better manipulator than I am!" I explained.
"At this point, we can only give it a shot, we don't have much time left," Natasha suggested. I nod my head, this is going to be fun.
Meet the Team - The Avengers.
They led me towards the cell, I can't possibly describe how excited I am. This will soon turn into a disaster. As I approach the cell, I saw a tall, charming young-looking man dressed in black and green. Slightly greasy hair with a playful smile on his face. I got to admit, he looks way better than in the comics or any portraits I've seen online. He looks at me, I got a feeling, he's expecting my arrival...
