Chapter 14: The Call

Angelie Marrianne Menova's POV

I was busy cooking my lunch when my cellphone immediately rings. Baka si Heather na yon, pero teka nga magkasama lang kami kanina ha. Namiss na niya ako agad. Sabi ng munting boses sa isipan ko.

My phone keeps on constantly ringing. I looked at it and it surprised me to see na hindi ito si Heather. Unknown number. Ano naman kaya kailangan nito? Hindi naman kasi ako palabigay ng number and sino naman kaya ito?

"Hello." I answered. I waited for the response of the caller. Hindi ito sumasagot. "Hello? Who are you?" Pagtatanong ko. "Walang galang na ho, kayo ho ang tumawag tapos ayaw mo pang magsalita. Ibaba ko na to." Bago ko pa man tuluyan iend yung call, I heard a response. "R-rian."

I immediately gasp upon hearing the voice of the caller. Kaba ng nanaig. "Bakit ka tumawag? Ano kailangan mo?"

"Ikaw ang kailangan ko." Sabay tawa ng caller. "A-at bakit ako? Ano g-ginawa..k-ko sa-yo? Utal utal kong sagot. Tila naeestatwa na ako sa kinatatayuan ko.

"My dear, are you afraid of me? 'Cause I loved it hearing you being afraid of me." sabay tawa ulit ng caller. Tila lito ako sa sarili ko kung ano ang dapat kong gawin. "Don't be afraid my dear. I won't hurt you.You know that right? I am your savior remember?"

"No. You are NOT my savior!" Paglilinaw ko sa kanya. I gather all my strengt, and chanted the words into my head 'Don't be afraid. Heather will protect you. Remember?' and immediately replied to the caller "Better shut up your mouth. I am not afraid of you."

"W-wow so my Rian is already strong enough? Well, my dear. I loved it. Let's see how strong you are." Sabay hagikhik ng caller na para bang nanalo. Mas lalu tuloy akong kinabahan upon hearing the words of the caller.

"i will come back and get you my dear. Don't forget. I will get you." Hindi na ako makarespond sa caller. I am lost for words. 'Lord, ito na ba yong dapat matakot na talaga ako sa kanya? That person can do anything even do harm just to get anything and even everything. Lord, please help me get through this.' Mataimtim ko sambit sa aking isipan. "Rian, are you still there?" "y-yes." Utal kong sagot.

"Rian, take care of yourself. I will come back and get you. You know that I look forward on the day that we will meet again. Take care. See you soon." sabay tawa ng malakas at inend na niya ang tawag.

"Rian. Rian." Payuyugyog ni Heather sa akin. "Rian. Rian." Paulit ulit din nitong sambit.

What the hell is the meaning of that dream? Who is that caller? Puro tanong ang bumabagabag sa isipan ko.

I am panting and breathing too hard, tila kapos sa hangin. Bigla akong napaupo sa kinahihigaan ko and Heather embraced me immediately. "Are you okay?" Pagtatanong nito, bakas din sa kanyang mata ang pag-aalala at takot na baka kung ano ang nangyare sa akin. I touched his cheek and said, "I am fine just a bad dream." I even planted a soft kiss on his cheek. "You got me worried, I was just here beside you watching television then you suddenly keep on shouting and you seemed so afraid. Tell me, what was that dream all about? I will make it go away." He is still looking at me intently at bakas na bakas pa rin sa kanyang mukha ang pag-aalala. 'My Heather, are you always like this since then? Seeing you worried at me makes make fall inlove with you even more.' Para tuloy akong 14 years old na kinikilig kapag nag-aalala si crush sa'yo. A smile flinched my eyes. "Rian, why are you smiling? Just tell me, what's your dream all about."
