(Reader's POV)
"Jarvis, play the message!" Tony says quickly, his heart racing.
"Alright sir, here is the message: Dad!" The sound of Violet's voice makes everyone tense up, she sounds like she was running. "I know you're probably aware of hell raining on us right now, but I don't think I can make it back to Stark Tower without becoming the human icicle!" Violet pauses, Steve's heart skips a beat. "I'm sorry if I hurt you, I didn't mean to." Sounds of hail and the planes crashing down echo in the background. "Please don't let what I said make you not care about me anymore." Tony is emotionless. "I'm sorry. I'm a selfish brat like Natasha said and I don't deserve to be saved." Everyone shifts in their seats, especially Steve. The guilt in Violet's voice makes it all worse. "But Daddy, I'm so, so scare—OH MY GOD!"
The majority in the room cringes at the terror in her voice before the line gets cut off. Tony's hands begin to shake wildly as he blames himself for not answering Violet sooner. A tear escapes down his face as her words echo through his head. Please don't let what I said make you not care about me anymore. Tony can't help but question himself to how Violet can ever think he would stop loving her for something as simple as that. Nick leans in, trying to be cautious.
"Tony—" Suddenly, Tony stands up and rushes to the suit.
It builds around him and he quickly makes his way out. The rest of the team all rises and goes after Tony. Unfortunately, Tony had already left the building.Violet's words echo through Steve's mind. OH MY GOD! The way she had screamed at the end has really shaken him up, making him feel helpless. First, He loses his best friend Bucky. Then he loses Peggy, and now possibly Violet. Why didn't Violet just call him? Steve would have came to the rescue to save her. She would have been much safer inside the helicrafter than where she was. Wherever she was. Now, the Avengers are out trying to catch Tony as he flies back to New York. Bruce and Natasha make small talk as Clint flies the helicrafter, Steve rest his forenames on his knees. His eyes are glued to the floor.
"We're going to find her, Captain Rogers." Thor says confidently, his voice gruff. "Stark Jr. is out there."
"You know, I've lost a lot of people in this lifetime." Steve says distantly, "But Violet could have called me."
"There was chaos, she wasn't thinking." Thor nods, "I could have been called as well."
"She could have called any of us," Natasha's voice echoes behind Thor, she appears beside him with Bruce "but she chose Tony. And we can't blame who she chose to call. Tony is in fact Violet's father."
Steve nods his head. Natasha is right. Violet called Tony because he saved her once before, when she lost her mother. But it still bothers Steve that Violet didn't call him.
"Hey!" Bruce snaps his fingers, looking at the 3 other superhero's, "Why don't we just trace Violet's phone? Maybe then we can find her!"
"God yeah! Why didn't I think of that?!" Natasha says angrily, looking at Clint. "Why didn't we think of that sooner?"
"Because we all were shaken up after that random acts of nature." Clint says, Natasha taking a seat next to him. "All of New York has gone to shit, hopefully I can get a signal."
The rest of the team walks over to them, waiting. Clint puts the helicrafter on autopilot. He walks over to the computer, turning it on. He types in Violet's cellphone number and taps search on the tracer. They all gather around, watching as the computer searches for a signal. Suddenly, it stops. Right on Steven's Street. Steve taps on his earpiece.
"Tony, we traced Violet's phone."
