Chapter 9: A Deal

Last chapter for today I SWEAR. This part is more of a bridge to the later stuff coming up soon. Lots of more action will be coming so dont worry. Please enjoy chapter 9!

    When you walked away from the camp, you chose a random direction and walked in it with out any plan of where you were going.
   The island was huge and large beasts roamed the area. You were able to avoid them for the most part but some would catch a whiff of your scent and attack you.
     The ground you walked on was crunching under your feet. The trees around you looked more and more dead the farther you walked.

You: So many dead trees. They wouldn't die naturally like this. Something did this to them.

   The air shifted around you. A scent hit your nose and caused you to wench. It smelled like death. The more you walked the stronger the scent became. Dead leaves fluttered down from above you. The trees had been reacently killed. Whatever did this was still near by.
    You crouched to hide the sounds of your footsteps. You could hear what sounded like soft crying.
   You followed the sound to a small cliff. Looking down you see a man. He had short black hair and was wearing a dark robe. He was kneeling down next to a dead deer weeping over it. Who ever this man was, you could link him to all of the dead trees.
     He wasn't supposed to be on the island. He was definitely not a member of Fairy Tail.
   Sliding down the small hill, a few small rocks fall out of place and hit the ground below you causing noise.
    The man stood up but never faced you.

Mystery man: You need to get as far away from me as possible. I can't control it.

You: I hate to say it pal but you're the one who needs to leave. You're on sacred grounds that belong to Fairy Tail. 

Mystery man: You're not understanding me. I'm a threat. A danger. I dont want to be but it cant control it. You need to leave now. Please listen to me.

He turns around and looks at you. His face turns from a sorrowful look to one of fear.

Mystery man: You- it can't be. Not yet- if you're here then he is too.

    The man backs away from you. His mind obviously racing.

Mystery man: Is it really that time? Have I really been here for that long Mavis? Please give me an answer.

You: How do you know her name? And what are you talking about? Answer me!

   A loud explosion from across the island grabs both your attentions.

You: That wasn't from one of us. What the hell was that?

You go to look back at the man

You: Answer my ques-

   The man was gone. He had ran while you were distracted.

You: Damn it! If you're still out there, this isn't over!

   You run twords the source of the explosion.
       In the sky across the island you can see what looked like a ship. Then a giant man started to form in front of it. Makarov.

You: Somethings seriously wrong. I need to head back to camp and find out what the hell is happening.

   After what felt like forever, you reached the make shift camp. Mirajane, Lisanna, Elfman, Evergreen and Natsu were all under a tent.

You: Can someone tell me what is happening right now.

Mirajane: The island is under attack. We have no idea by who but they mean business. Natsu and Makarov got attacked by one of their members.

You: Bastards! Do you know here the others are?

Evergreen: No clue. But we believe that they have many more people on the island.

   You grit your teeth.

Mirajane: I'm sure the others have encountered the other goons by now.

You: What should I do? You all look like you're in bad shapes. Do you need me to stay here?

Mirajane: No I think we're good. You should try to find the others and lend a hand if they need it.

You: Can do.

  With that said, you set off to find whoever you could come across.
    It didn't take long to find action. From above in a tree, a fast moving object came out and hit you square in the head, knocking you flat on your ass.

You: Now what in gods name was that!

    You look up to see a woman on a tree branch holding an orb. Presumably the object that nearly gave you a concussion.

Woman: My apologies. I ment for that to knock you out. But now you're awake and very aware of my presence.

You: *Rubbing forehead* I'm assuming your with the invaders. A nice hello would have been preferred.

Woman: Well then hello. My name is Ultear Milkovich. And you may call the invading party Grimoire Heart. Who do I have the pleasure of talking to.

You: (R/N), and you can call the defending party Fairy Tail. Now get the hell off this island.

   Ultear looks you with surprise. She looks all over your body soaking in every detail. She then takes a quick look at her orb and smiles to herself before looking back at you.

Ultear: I'm afraid I cant do that. You see, I have a mission to complete. I need to retrieve and man named Zeref and I cannot leave with out him. You wouldn't know where he is would you?

You: I don't know who that is. And if I did know, why would I ever tell you?

Ultear: Because I know who you are (R/N). I know you seek answers. I want to make a deal that would benifet you more than it benefits me. You care for your guild mates like they're family. But right now, each and everyone of them is suffering at the hands of one of my guild mates. Im here for one reason, and that reson is Zeref. If you help me get to him, I will stand down and leave. Just like you asked me to. And in addition to that, I'll tell you what I know, son of Acnologia.

You: Wha- what did you just call me?

   You were shocked. Was this woman speaking the truth? If so how did she know who you were. No, she had to be lying. Toying with you... but if she was, why would she throw that out there? It's not something a person would say at random.

You: Ok. Fine. I'll help you. But a few stipulations come with this deal of ours. One, if you're lying to me, you will regret it. I'm not afraid to kill. Two, once we find this Zeref you're looking for, you're going to leave immediately. And three, if you stab me in the back, you're going to feel the wrath of Fairy Tail. Got it?

   Ultear jumps down from the tree and walks up to you.

Ultear: We'll shake on it.

   She stretches her hand out awaiting a handshake.
   You take her hand in yours and shake once while looking at her in the eyes.

You: Its a deal.

Ultear: Good. But I suggest we hurry you're friends aren't doing so well.

   She holds the glass ball in front of her body, letting you look through it. You see everyone bruised and beaten up. Mirajane and Lisanna looked like they were fighting for their lives. Juvia and Grey could barely stand. Elfman and Evergreen were holding each other in fear...
