Chapter 6: Chosen to Compete

In this chapter I'm going to try out a different way of writing out dialogue. If you prefer this way please say so. If not I will go back.

Also, I plan on releasing a chapter 6.5 today. It will be a semi-short "Chapter" that will include some extra stuff that I didn't want to include in this chapter but still want to make apart of the story.

Guildarts: "I promised you information about Acnologia. So here goes.  Acnologia is a fearsome dragon that towers over even some of the largest buildings. His power demolishes anything he wills it to. If he wants something gone or someone dead, you better know that he will get it done. When I fought him atop that mountain, I gave it my all. The entire time that bastard was smiling. He was toying with me. I believe the only reason I survived is because I was just that, a toy. Something not worth wasting much energy on. Now do you see why I reacted twords you the way I did when I felt your energy?"

You: "I compleatly understand. I'm just glad you didn't strait up kill me" *Nervous laughter*

Guildarts: "I'm glad I didn't either. You can learn a lot about a person by the way they fight, and you're definitely not my enemy."

You: "Good! Last thing I need is for the strongest wizard in Fairy Tail to be hostile towards me."

    You and Guildarts sat on the tree and talked a little while more. Getting to know one another and talking about the guild. But something started to bother you, it was a smell. It was a fishy scent and you could smell it the entire time you were out there. Only now was it bothering you.

You: "Say Guildarts, do you smell that? It smells like fish."

  Guildarts smelled himself before he spoke.

Guildarts: "I don't smell any fish, and it's not coming from me"

   You get up and follow in the direction of the smell. As you approached a large tree, other smells were hitting your nose. Strawberry, burnt wood, and fur all attacked your senses.

You: "Now what is making tha-"

    You stop and look behind the tree as you see three red faced people and a blue cat eating a raw fish.

Grey: "DAMN IT HAPPY. I TOLD YOU THAT EATING THE FISH WAS A BAD IDEA."

Happy: "But I was hungry! I didn't eat my after dinner meal because Erza wanted to spy on (R/N)!"

   Upon hearing Happy's comment, Erza slowly turned her head towards the feline with a very angry look on her face.

Happy: "I get the feeling that I wasn't supposed to say that. I'm going to fly away now"

    The cat zoomed off as fast as he could. Erza sighs and looks at you and Guildarts.

Erza: "As Happy said, I wanted to follow you because of the way you were acting today. Aka I was concerned about you, bite me!"

You: "Hey now what's with all the hostility huh? I'm not angry. Im sure Guildarts isn't either"

    Guildarts shrugs his shoulders as if he had nothing to do with the situation.

You: "See?"

Natsu: "Speaking of Guildarts... HOW COME (R/N) GETS TO FIGHT YOU BUT I DONT! I WANT A REMATCH RIGHT HERE RIGHT NO-"
  
   Guildarts takes a single finger and flicks it at Natsu, causing the poor boy to slam into multiple trees.

Guildarts: "I fought him because I needed to see about something. Simple as that."

Grey: "See about what?"

You: "I might explain it to you sometime later. But for now I'm exhausted and it's late. So I'm going home. Erza are you coming with or are you staying here?"

Erza: "I'll come with"

    When everyone was out of the woods, they all went their separate ways leaving you and Erza like every other day.

You: "Sooo, you were concerned about me huh?"

Erza: "Oh shut up. Am I not allowed to be worried about a friend?"

You: "I'm just yanking your chain."

  Erza playfully hits your arm, but she doesn't do a strength check and manages to hit a very sore part of your arm at full strength. Causing you to yelp in pain.

Erza: "My bad!"

    It's been about 8 months since that night. You've been on numerous adventures and jobs with team Natsu and other members of the guild. You even traveled to Edolas and helped to save a dying world. You were truly apart of the Fairy Tail family.

   A habit you devolved after your fight with guildarts was visiting any library that you came across to try to find more information about Acnologia. Most searches turned out the same information that Guildarts had told you. You had reached a dead end and carried on with focusing on Fairy Tail.

It had been a busy week for your guild mates. Nearly everyone was taking jobs one after another, leaving none behind for you.

You: "Hey Mira, what's with everyone's sudden interest in taking jobs?"

Mirajane: "They're all training for the S-class trials. Or, at least some of them are. Others are trying to at least get chosen for it."

You: "The S-class trials? What are those?"

Mirajane: "A select few wizards are chosen to participate in a series of challenges to test their strength and minds as wizards. I'm not allowed to disclose exact information about it because I'm one of the people planning it, but I will tell you this because you don't know what's going on and I'd feel bad about springing this up on you suddenly, you're one of the participants."

You: *In a hushed voice* "I'm what!"

Mirajane: "Yup. You may have not been here for very long but master cought wind of your fight with Guildarts and was impressed that you were able to knock him down a few pegs. You have also proven yourself to be S-class material."

You: "Well, uh, ok then. When is all of this supposed to be going down?"

Mirajane: "We're reveling the chosen in 3 days. So keep quiet until then ok?"

You: "Will do Mira. I guess I need to start training"
