You awoke from a dreamless sleep. The room was dark, a sign that it was still night. Erza lay next to you fast asleep. You carefully move out of the small bed as to not wake her up.

The pain in your abdomen was now nothing but a sore spot.

You: Did that seriously heal after a few hours of sleep? Impossible. I could have swore I had broken ribs.

You wipe the sleep from your eyes and look at a clock hanging from the wall.

You: Its four in the morning huh? I didn't sleep for very long. Guess being knocked out for two days nulls the need for a long night's sleep.

The room was still and quiet apart from Erza's rhythmic breathing. There wasn't a single person in the med bay other than you two.

You find a desk below a window, take out the black book Ultear gave you, and use the moon light to look through the pages.

You: What could be in this damn book that would make a man go mad? Was she exaggerating? ... no. She wouldn't do that. The writing is alien to me and every book on language I can find. It makes no sense, why would she give it to me if it can't be read?

You silently sigh

You: Whatever. Its secrets will be revealed when the time comes I suppose. If not, then so be it.

You close the book and put it away. Looking out the window, your mind starts to drift.

A few minutes pass when a dark thought enters your mind.

You: What if I get my memories back? Will I become the monster that Porlyusica described? She said I was a creature that towered over dragons, what could be large enough to dwarf a colossal beast such as a dragon? Something in me says that theres more to this whole blood infusion business. You can't just mix the blood of two different creatures and create a hybrid being. There has to be a way to develop and mold the hybrid. She never mentioned anything about a mother. Who was she, better yet, did I even have a mother? Was I grown in some lab or something?

These thoughts were making you panic.

You: I need to stop thinking about this. Maybe Ultear is right. If just thinking about what I am is making me shake, then whatever is in that book might drive me insane.

You cup your face in your hands while leaning on the desk.

A shuffling on the bed behind you brings some comfort to your aching mind.

You: At least I've got my friends with me. I know they'll stay with me till the end. Especially Erza.

You hear more movements on the bed.

Erza: (R/N)?

She sounded concerned

You: I'm at the desk across from the beds, don't worry.

Erza breathes a sigh of relief

Erza: I was worried for a second. Why are you up?

She stands up out of the bed and sits on the desk in front of you.

You: I've had my fill for sleep. I woke up about half an hour ago fully awake.

Erza looks over at the clock.

Erza: I guess it's not a bad time to be awake, only four thirty.

You: Are you gonna lay back down?

Erza: Nah, no point for two more hours of sleep. How does going for a walk sound? Oh wait, I forgot about your wound.

You: Actually, my wound is a lot better now. It's odd. It feels like a minor sore now.

Erza: Let me see it.

She takes a look at your stomach, the once bruised area now looks completely normal.

Erza: That really is odd.

You: Sure is, so how about that walk?

Erza: Sounds good. Let's go stretch our legs.
