“He’s taking you for granted. Then everything you have, I’ll destroy. “
~Beyoncé (If I was a boy)

.

Avril was nowhere to be found and twenty minutes into the march, she still wasn’t anywhere near sight.

I spot Hadid handing out the cardboard and fliers to fellow students and I make my way over to him.

I’m certain Avril has told him I don’t want to appear creepy, but I’m a little nervous at the thought of something happening to her.

“Hey,” I say once I get to where he is.

He doesn’t answer me as he keeps passing the fliers to other students, acting like there’s no one beside him talking.

“Have you seen Ms Good? I can’t find her anywhere among the rest forerunners and I’m kind of worried.” I admit because I am and the weariness seems to be also in my voice.

“What? Twenty minutes with her and you already overprotective?”

A scowl appears on my face. “It’s not being overprotective, it’s about worrying for her. Aren’t you worried too?” As he keeps ignoring me I continue, “I get it you dislike me-“

He scoffs, “Dislike is another word.”

I know I’m getting more irritated by his rude attitude. “You’ve got a problem with Mr Mina??”

“You don’t get it, do you? Your brain not putting pieces together?”

No, actually my brain’s kind of fucked up and I don’t try to stress it up, “You know where Avril is or not.”

“Apparently she had an urgent call and had to attend to,” is the reply I hear and I look to see Cassidy as she walks up to us, “I knew she wouldn’t make it through the march, but hey I was branded the bad guy.” she rolls her eyes and walks away.

I can tell there is bad blood between Avril and Cassidy, but I try not to think about it too much.

Noah had called her. He has been watching us like a hawk and decided he’s had enough of our shit. My hands are shaking and now more than ever I need a smoke to calm me down.

“I need a quiet place to smoke,” I mumble to myself, pulling out the cigarette from my pocket, but Hadid looks to have heard me as he turned around to me.

“No smoking,” he snaps with a glare.

“Why? Because you hate me and just said it?”

“No, because it’s on this sticker.” He says, lifting the sticker for me to see.

“Fine.” I put back the packet of cigarettes into my pocket. “I get why Avril doesn’t like me, but I don’t understand why you don’t like me. Have I wronged you in the past? Cause I can’t remember.”

He grits his teeth as he tries to control himself and his anger “If being referred to as sexually confused is not offence enough, Mr Castillo, then I don’t know what is.”

My brows pull together, “I said that?” I ask, feeling a little confused. I remember being rude to Avril, but that’s it. I didn’t think I said something like that.

He scoffs, “Real smooth bro, you know what? Forget it,” and he begins to walk away.

“I’m sorry I said that,” I say, following behind him. “That was cruel, and I was a jerk, so I’m sorry.”

“Noah called Avril,” he answers, his voice a little unclear, but I pick it up fast.

“She told you?”
