"Then... and only then shall I-"
The Miz was cut short as theme music began blasting through the titantron. With an annoyed scowl on his face he cast a cold glare sideways at the direction of the ramp. Out skipped a blonde girl, microphone in hand, smirking as her music blared. She received mixed reactions from the audience, but Miz's annoyed look never wavered. When her music finally died down he began to speak.
"...Really? Really? Really? Really?"
"Shh. I talk, you listen." Miz arched an eyebrow at the girl. He should have stopped her from speaking after she so rudely interrupted him. But... he had to admit he was curious as to what it was the daring girl had to say.
"Miz. I'm here to make a name for myself. And that's a problem, because it looks like you're here to do the same. Here's the deal, though. You had your chance to keep going but let yourself get boo'd out. You're old news. In more ways than one."
A collective "ohhh" came out of the audience. Miz smirked at the girl. He wasn't going to get out piped by a newbie.
"You see, I don't get you new girls. You think you're such hot stuff. The Diva's division is a joke. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. So why don't you scurry on back there and let the adults finish their grown up talk out here, okay?"
The girl smirked yet again, ruffling up her blonde hair a little and staring down at the man in the ring.
"I don't see any adults in the ring right now."
Once again the audience collectively laughed at her perfectly executed insult. Miz was a bit taken aback this time. He racked his brain for the perfect comeback but could think of nothing. She knew she had won so she brought the microphone to her perfectly glossy red lips once again.
"That's what I thought. Now, why don't you scurry on back to Hollywood? Face it man. What everyone wants to see is fresh young blood. Not a has been."
She spoke the last words with as much attitude as possible and dropped the mic to the ramp. Turning on her heel, flipping her hair, she disappeared backstage, leaving the Miz speechless.

"Hey. What the hell was that??"
The blonde girl smiled to herself as she scrolled on her phone. She knew who it was talking behind her before she even turned around.
"Oh. It's you." She said with a sly smile, finally turning around.
"Yeah. It's me. What the hell do you think you're doing pulling something like that with a veteran?"
"Ooooh, is someone mad I out shined him?"
"Really? Really? Out shined me? Not in a million years, toots. Now what giv-"
"Sssshush." She placed a finger against his lips to silence him. She felt a smirk creep on her face when his eyes grew slightly wide. Oh she's so daring.
"Tell me you wouldn't have done the same thing if you wouldv'e thought of it."
Miz thought to himself for a second. She was right. Damn it. He hates when he's wrong.
"Fine." He batted her hand away and folded his arms.
"Alright, yeah. I guess you're right. I have to admit..." He arched a brow, looking the girl over.
"...I'm a bit impressed, miss... uhhh?"
It was her turn to be shocked as she felt her own eyes grow wide.
"Marlayna. Did... did you just compliment me?"
"Don't get used to it, 'Layna ." He stated flatly before pushing past her to walk away.
'Wow' she thought to herself. She had meant to interrupt him to gain popularity for herself and he was... impressed. She had expected him to be furious.
"Hey!" she called after him.
He turned around, arms still folded, and tipped his head back waiting for her to speak.
"Uhm... I'm kinda new here and haven't been assigned a mentor yet... would you like to help?"
He stared at her a moment more before once again turning on his heel to leave. Ouch. She guessed he had a right to be pissed though. Just as she felt her heart begin to fall he stopped once again, turning so that she could only see the side of his face.
"I'll be your mentor... if you go on a date with me first." He stopped only long enough to see her smile and nod happily before turning to leave again.
