It's been 2 weeks since I arrived in Denver, and I am kind of getting the hang of it. I remember where the lunchroom is, the library, main office, and girls bathroom. I just get lost with my rooms. I either walk past 2 doors or before 2 doors. I'm also glad that I receive homework from the teachers now and the fact that no one recognizes me as Lilian Crawford, daughter of a multi billionaire.
I also got close to Ron and Bridget. They were both fun people to be with. I got to know them better. I found out that Ron is the linebacker of the football team and he is considered one of the popular but he rather sit with his best friend, Bridget. They've been friends since 6th grade and Ron doesn't want to just ditch his friend for the guys. What a fine young man! Isn't he? He reminds me of my brother.
"I'm throwing a party this Friday. Lily, you're going. That's final!" Ron stated. Before I could open my mouth and reply, Bridget interrupted.
"No. When Ron says final, it's final. Understand?"
I smiled and just nodded. As I became friends with them, they have been bossing me around. In a good way, though. They know that I don't have anything else to do so they plan things ahead before I can argue with them. Since they're my only friends that I trust, I let them.
"Ron, out of curiosity, why didn't you stand up for yourself when Mason wanted to take your seat last week?" I asked. Yes, I'm curious because what I know is that football players were really close and they don't bully each other.
"You should get use to that. They're like brothers and they just play around. You know?" Bridget answered for him.
"Mhm. Don't worry. I would do the same thing with him if I really wanted to sit next to pretty girl like you." Ron adds. He's also a little flirty.
"I know what you're thinking..."Ron trailed, "That I'm a flirt. I'm not okay? I tell the truth."
I look over to Bridget who just nodded at me. Then I smiled when I had a thought. "What about Bridget?" I asked.
"What about Bridget?" Ron asked.
Bridget is one pretty girl. She is like those typical high school girls but more cheery and talkative. She wears plain skinny jeans and colorful bright blouses. She wears a beanie or a fedora and wears boots that are up to her knees. Her sweaters are all denim, I think because she never came to school with just a plain sweater or any other design.
"What do you think about her?" I asked. Bridget kicked me under the table and Ron hesitated to answer with his smile. I can tell that there is something going on with this two. The chemistry is undeniable.
Ron was about to open his mouth and speak but got interrupted by two guys patting his shoulder. Soon, I found Mason and Ryan pulling a chair from somewhere and set it next by our table. "Hey, Ron! What do we got here?" Ryan asked as he winked at me.
I rolled my eyes at him and looked down to my lunch. I could sense that everyone was staring. The past days, Mason hasn't bugged me and no one gave me the look or has been rude to me. Now, it's coming back again. The glares and gossip about me.
"What you say we sneak out and have some fun? If you know what I mean?" Ryan flirted.
"Yuck! Never in my life!" I state and push my plate from me as I have lost my appetite.
"Feisty. Just like what Mason said." Ryan said. I looked over at Bridget who was also disgusted by him. I'm just happy that Bridget found them disgusting and rude, too. She isn't like other girls in the school that would throw herself to them. Bridget had waved for me to leave with her. I nodded and I stood up grabbing my bag.
