Everyone was exhausted from last weekend. It was fun but I'd still rather sit at home and do homework.
"How was your first couple of days in RiverWood?" I asked Landon as he tried to make himself a cup of coffee without the need of anyone.
"It's great. I see why you like this school," he answered casually.
"I just hope mom and dad have allowed me to attend this school so I won't have to hide who I really am to my friends." I sighed, rubbing my forehead.
"I know, but you're not hiding yourself really. You're actually being your true self to them. It's just that your physical features are different but inside, your personalities are still the same." Landon said. I smiled at his kind words and then continued to finish my breakfast.
It's been 2 weeks since the weekend shenanigan with my friends. So far, I've been living a normal life with my brother, I suppose. It felt pretty normal but I knew it wasn't any normal teenage life.
Sure, I may be living the life that I wanted. No one has the control of me and I attend the school I have always wanted but hiding from someone is pretty hard, especially when it's your own mother. Who does that anyways?
"Hey, are you okay?" Madison half whispered. I looked up from my untouched lunch tray to Madison. I tried to fake a smile with a nod but I guessed she's not buying it. Hey eyes grew bigger and that kind of made me scared.
"OmG! Guys, check your mail if you follow Jennifer Crawford." Bridget screamed. Did I hear her right? Jennifer Crawford?
"What?" I was about to ask that question but Ron beat me to it.
"I just received an email from multiply sources that Jennifer Crawford's daughter is missing." Bridget said without taking a single breath. Now, all of my attention are on her as I looked like a shocked koala.
"Missing?" I asked. I'm not missing, that's for sure.
"Not really missing but ran away and Jennifer Crawford said that if anyone spots her daughter then contact her or her agent or any media." Bridget said. Boom! Panic attack hits me. Where is Landon? I'm freaking out right now. My hands were starting to sweat and my face was starting to burn up like I was some red tomato being baked.
"Are you alright?" Mason ask who was beside me. We were at a fast food restaurant right now. I have to spend my weekend with them again because Landon wants to get to know them better. But where is he? Does he know about it?
"Uh, yeah. I just need to use the little lady's room." I said and awkwardly stood up from my seat but I was actually going to look for Landon. He went with Mark somewhere to get something but they haven't returned since then.
I got out of the restaurant and searched all over the streets. I checked every corner and he was no where to be found. I felt a hand grasp my arm as I tried to cross the road. I felt it pull me back however.
"Lily, calm down." Landon told me. I inhaled and exhaled, trying to lower my heart beat as soon as I realized it was him.
"Lan- Lan- don. Mom...." I tried to say.
"I know. I received an email just a while ago. Don't worry. You'll be okay. I promise," he says, caressing my shoulder to calm me down.
" I don't want to go back." I whined, I thought but I was actually tearing up. I felt a couple of tears slowly streaming down my cheeks.
"Shh. I will handle it. Shh. It's okay." Landon wipes away my tears and pulls me into a hug. I may seem pathetic but it's what I felt. I was so scared. I didn't want to go back to my miserable life. I like it here.
