As soon as everyone picked their rooms and unpacked their things, we all headed to the fireplace for some warmth. It was really cold. My hair was freezing. I don't know if it's just me. I'm not use to the cool climate yet, I guess.
"So are we just going to lie here all day or are we going to ski down the slopes?" Ryan said, making himself a hot coco.
"Later, dude, it's freezing cold." Mason answered for all of us.
"I think we need more firewood." Ron said as he took the last piece of firewood. Landon got up and so as Mason.
"We'll help you pal," Landon said. Mark also stood up.
"I'll stay with the ladies," Ryan said with a creepy tone.
"No buddy. You're coming with us." Mason demanded. Thank goodness. I guess there are perks of Mason's controlling personality.
The guys stepped out the cabin and it was full on awkward with the girls. Maddison is quite hard to read. None of us girls spoke for the last 5 minutes, just staring at the fire flaring.
"So, you and my brother, huh?" Maddison finally spoke. Now, what about me and him? There's absolutely nothing.
"What about us?" I asked.
"Well, you guys have a thing, right?" she says.
"No, there's nothing going on between us, Maddison. Nothing," I told her with a serious tone—and I'm not just being in denial. I'm just being factious.
"You can call me Maddie," she giggles. "But I'll have to disagree with you."
"Oh come on. He'll soon get over it and he'll forget about me as soon as he finds someone new and pretty," I said.
"Don't say that. You're one pretty geek," Maddie complimented, I think. "And my brother? Mason. He doesn't chase girls. Girls chase him and you're the first girl that he has ever chased after, right Bridget?" I rolled my eyes at the very cliché line I have read from so many stories.
I turned to Bridget who was pretty quiet. What's with her? "Yup. You're his first chase and maybe will be his first 6," Bridget grins. Finally, I was getting worried about her scowling. I may only know her for 2 months or so but I know that she always keeps a happy face on.
"I'm sorry. Six?" I tried to change the conversation. There's nothing to talk about Mason and me really.
"Are you serious, Bridget?" Maddie ignored my question. "That means Mason listened to me to not have six with Lindsey."
"Six?" I repeated my question.
"My bad. Six is a term we prefer when we're talking about sex. It sounds better, doesn't it? To make it less disgusting." Maddie informed me. Well, that's nice to know, right?
"So are you saying that Mason Parker, the school's playboy, is still a virgin?" I grinned. It was surprisingly hilarious to believe in.
"I know. It's so hard to believe but it's true. Mason? He's an open guy. He'll open up to you when you're a very close trustworthy friend of his." Maddie said.
"But he's Riverwood's playboy. That's impossible, " I emphasized.
"Like I said, it's hard to believe." Maddie says while Bridget nodded, agreeing with her. I stopped disagreeing and started to think positive. Maybe, he is still a virgin playboy. That sounded absurd as I said it in my head.
"Man, it must be nice to be really rich," Bridget changed the conversation. "Rich kids are so lucky. They get everything they want and people do stuff for them like make them breakfast, tie their shoes, and make their beds."
