Mason
This is it. She is meeting the old man. I don't know why but I am hoping that he will like her. It's not that I care if he does or not but because someday I want him to approve of her. I want him to know that I won't do the same he did with mom.
I won't ever let her go. I don't think any girl can put up to the things I do. Most would probably gave up on me the moment I show them my bad side. I had a couple of girls who I tried trusting but they all end up giving up on me. Lily is the first.
I hopped off my car and held a small rosé. I walked nervously to her front steps. I don't know why I'm nervous. She hasn't even met my father. I think maybe that's the reason why I am nervous.
What if he meets him then she decided to not do anything with me anymore? What if my father tells her something that will make her to leave me? To give up on me.
Relax, Mason.
I rang her doorbell and Sarah opened it. She greeted me with a lovely smile. "Good Evening, Mason. Please, come inside." I stepped in as she pushed the door open. "Lily, will be down in a minute."
I smiled. "How are you doing?" I asked her politely.
"I'm doing fine, Mason. I am just happy that you and Lily are okay now. How about you? How are you doing?" she said.
We both sat on the living room couch. "I am actually okay but nervous as of right now." I grinned.
"Why so?"
"Well, Lily will be meeting my father and I am hoping that the dinner will go fine without myself throwing anything on my father. I don't want Lily to see that but it's my father. He gets on my nerves." I said.
"Mason, I don't mean to offend you but haven't Lily seen that side of you?" she paused. True. "So you don't need to be nervous. Just keep calm and think of something that makes you happy. Besides, Lily won't hate you for your actions tonight. Sure, she might scold you but I'm sure that she won't despise you. See? She's still there for you till now."
Her words was stuck in my mind. She's right. There's no need to be nervous. I can do this. Just keep calm and think of things that makes me happy. Lily.
We heard footsteps from the stairway. "Ah, here she comes." Sarah said as we stood up and looked up the stairs. She appeared from the walls. I saw her looking down right at me. She looks beautiful. She wore a white knee-length dress. Her hair is fixed unto a bun.
As she walked down, I couldn't stop staring at her and a big smile on my face merged. She's the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. She is the most beautiful angel I have met. I swear, I don't know what I will do if she and I haven't met. I probably will be at some party getting wasted right now.
She reached the main floor and I didn't even notice that she was standing in front of me. When I looked her in her eyes, I see a great future with her. I see that she will never give up on me.
I tried to open my mouth and say something but nothing came out. "So, shall we?" she asked. I was still speechless. She looked at me weirdly.
Come on, dummy. Speak!
I shook my head and closed my eyes to get me back to reality. I opened it and I see her beautiful smile again. I bit my lip. "Cat got your tongue?" she grinned. I gulped down my saliva that has been there since I saw her walk down the stairs.
"No, but you caught my heart." I made a cheesy comeback. She giggles. "Here." I said as I handed her a rose. She sniffs it with her eyes shut.
"Thanks." she said.
