Sleepy

I yawned and cuddled closer to Shawn. I felt him rest his head on top of mine and squeeze me tightly around my waist before letting go.

We were watching movies, cuddled up on the couch, but it was late and I was so tiered. I laid my head on Shawn's chest and carried on watching, refusing to let sleep take over.

One third of the way through our movie, Shawn started to play with my hair: twirling it round his finger and braiding it. It felt so nice and I was so relaxed and happy in his arms.

It wouldn't hurt anyone to rest my eyes. And with that, sleep won the battle I had been fighting against it. Far off, I heard Shawn chuckle, probably at me...

A little later, I felt two strong, warm arms wrap under my legs and across my back. I was in that state halfway between sleeping and awake, so my eyes glanced open for a second to see a smiling Shawn.

I closed my eyes and heard Shawn open our bedroom door and felt the mattress sink beneath me and then the cosy blankets wrap under my neck.

A little later, I felt Shawn slide in next to my and his arms returned around my waist. "Goodnight, princess, I love you." He whispered. 'I love you too, Shawn' I thought, but sleep had taken over again, and I drifted off, thinking about how lucky I was to have Shawn as my own
