Falling for a stranger

My eyes opened slowly, adjusting to the harsh, summer light. I stretched out my arms and smiled happily to myself. It was just one of those days when you woke up on the good side of bed.

I pulled myself from the warmth of the covers and placed my bare feet gently on the wooden floor below me. I grabbed a pair of jeans and a white shirt before heading to the shower to freshen up. Once I'd finished in the shower, I dried my hair and tied it up into a messy bun and applied some light mascara. I changed into my clothes, slipped on a pair of Vans and grabbed a beanie and my phone as I headed out the door.

My friends had told me about a really good restaurant that had recently opened, so I decided to head there for a takeaway coffee and go shopping. I hopped in my car and blasted all my favorite music on the way, ignoring all the weird glances I got when I stopped at the traffic lights. Shortly, I arrived at the small restaurant and walked inside. I was greeted with amazing smells and sights.

I ordered my coffee and waited patiently in the corner for it to finish being made. Once it was, I paid and walked out. I decided to walk to the place where I could intended shopping, so I pulled out my phone to search the directions...I was useless at finding places. Unfortunately, I wasn't looking up and I walked straight into someone. My coffee slipped out my hand and spilled down the front of my 'very-conveniently-white' shirt.

I gasped a little as the warm liquid burnt me slightly. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!" The person exclaimed. I shook my head, willing myself to get over the shock. "No,no, really. It's my fault." I said, finally looking up to meet the persons eyes. He looked down at me with perfectly curly hair, a pair of eyes that could slow time and his plump lips. There was a little frown on his forehead and he looked anxious, like he was genuinely concerned about a stranger he had bumped into.

"Are you ok?" He asked nervously, snapping me out my thoughts. I hope I wasn't drooling....I nodded and gave him a reassuring smile. "Really, it's alright." He didn't look convinced. "And your shirt?" He asked. I looked down at the brown stain but shook it off. "I was going to go shopping anyways." I say. "At least let me buy you another coffee?" He asked. I laugh and he seems to relax a little. "If that'll reassure you that I'm ok, then alright." I smile.

"Great. I didn't catch your name." He says. "I'm (y/n)." I say. "Shawn." He replies. "Pleasure to meet you." I laugh and we enter the coffee shop again. I end up spending the rest of the day with Shawn, first getting a new shirt (which he refused to let me pay for), then just walking around town, joking and laughing the whole way around. At the end of the day, we stop by a fountain.

Suddenly he turns serious. "(Y/n), I know this is crazy, but I've never felt this way about someone before. It just feels like we were meant to meet." He says, blushing a bit. He looks down at the water, not making eye contact. "Shawn, I feel exactly the same way." I reply quietly. Only then does he look up at me, a huge, beaming smile forming on his face. I don't realize we are both leaning toward each other until his warm breath is on my face and my eyes flutter closed. When his lips touch mine, it is like the world stopped spinning.

Butterflies swarm my tummy and my heart feels like it's running a marathon. Eventually, we both have to pull away for air. He looks down into me eyes, a warm smile spread across his features. He hugs me and I hold onto him tightly, never wanting the embrace to end. Never would I imagine I would be falling for a stranger.

(A/n) IM NOT DEAD!! Don't worry guys, I'm still alive and writing...my phone was banned and then I had exams so, yeah. But they ended today, so I'm happy. Hope you enjoyed, we have a long weekend so hopefully I can update some more :)
