ALLAN: Okay, chains off!
"Alright, let's go quickly before he sees you" I whispered tugging at its main but the beast snarled at me with its large teeth and looked at its owner still conversing.
No one had noticed that the animal was loose.
The owner noticed its glare and nudged his partner, "See that, it almost looks like it wants me dead"
His friend laughed with him, "Stupid cat" the owner snarled drawing a whip I hadn't noticed before and smacking the beast's face.
It seemed to fear the whip as the lion jumped back in fear but exposed me beautifully.
Oh great!
"Hey boy, what are you doing there, are you trying to steal my pet?" the owner caught sight of me, "Get away you royal brat before I have my beast devour you"
His friend's face suddenly was aghast as he poked on his friend, "Is the chain supposed to be like that?"
"What are you talking...about?" He realized as both he and the beast looked at the broken chain on the floor.
The beast looked at the owner again as his friend already left him running at top speed. I held my breath waiting to see what would happen, "This...could be a bad idea" I whispered.
Did the lion just smile?
The Pteroleon roared loudly before biting the chain on the ground and with powerful force pulled the owner off the bridge.
I just watched in shock as the owner fell into a roof of a house.
Not what I expected.
People around ran as fast as they could, "A lion is loose, call the guards!" Came voices of panic.
"Maybe...maybe I should've warned him" I muttered but my mind snapped back as the beast approached me.
Wait...is it going to attack?
The Pteroleon bowed its head low, its wings folded neatly behind it and I smiled, "Yeah it's nice to meet you too"
I walked cautiously towards it, "Just gonna ride you for a while, if that's okay?" I said before realizing, "that sounded wrong out loud"
The Pteroleon didn't resist but rather purred like a cat. I climbed onto its back and watched as it's white mesmerizing wings stretched.
"Okay boy" I said and pointed where the faint light shone, "that way"
The beast roared and leapt off the bridge and I found myself screaming, "Woohoo!"
It was scary at first but as the beast flapped it's angelic wings and we soared in the sky, I quickly became thrilled.Wind blew against my face as we flew over the many slums of the market. Finally my eyes landed on Abu, the Phoenix was calmly resting on a tree branch.
I looked around and noticed the two Imperials entering a house, it looked familiar.
Where have I seen that?
The image came to me and I remembered, it was the house with the symbol of the many skeletons painted in blood.
Where that creepy old woman was, though at this angle it just looked squarish "Okay go down" I ordered and the beast obeyed.People watched as the lion landed, spreading dust. Claps followed as they all seemed impressed, they probably thought I was some seller trying to market my skills and convince them to buy something.
All the same, I guess it was pretty impressive seeing someone on a Pteroleon though it didn't help make me blend in. I hoped the Imperials didn't notice.
