VICTORIA: Jon, the head of Moonsville. A very reputable individual known for heroics, my parents respected him above even the Lords of the Kingdoms.Thinking back, I had a lot of memories of Jon, most were painful.
"Show me that you're capable Victoria, you want to prove to the elite, you prove to me that you are worthy." His voice echoed in the dark chamber I was in.
I focused as all around me statues walked towards me, weapons drawn out.
Marble cedar statues of Roman soldiers. It was as if they came to life suddenly. They looked surreal but I made sure not to underestimate my opponents even if they were literally things.
Where did the old man even get the idea to summon these?
"I think it's because of that boy, isn't it? Look at the way your legs are shaking, do you want to take a rest and talk to the lad?"
"Shut up!" I hollered as I focused my mind and will at the statues rigidly moving towards me, armed with wooden shields and spears.
Focus Vicky, ignore the old man.
The first attacker swung its sword and I maneuvered to the left but stopped in my tracks as my eye caught a flying spear.
The wooden spear grazed my left arm and I flinched a bit.
"Oh, dear...a drop of blood. Do you want us to stop, that cut looks dangerous."
I took a deep breath as I mentally imagined strangling the source of the voice.
"Give me your best shot old man." I encouraged.
Laughter filled the dark room, apart from the circular light that followed my every step from above, the room was pitch black.
"You are going to regret calling me that."
All statues lunged at me and I panicked at the surprise attack, never had all of them come at me like that.
I could only jump back as both sword and shield swiped through the air. The weapons were wood but still, the way they were swung was enough to shatter my skull.
"Are you trying to kill me?" I shouted in anger as I rolled to the floor as another spear crashed where I was momentarily ago.
"Maybe."
"Huh...are you serious?" I walked back slowly as the statues approached, some were unarmed but the ones with swords were the one's upfront.
"Come on Vicky. You can't be embarrassing me like that on the day of the tournament. I'm betting on you."
"Then teach me real skills not train with your wooden dolls every day!" I carefully evaluated my options.
"I'm hurt Vicky...they're actually action figures."
One spear hurled at me from my back fast and deflected the weapon in time but it still cut my elbow.
Be faster Vicky.
"I should tell my dad what you're putting me through." I threatened "making the daughter of the Two Elements go through this kind of pointless training."
Laughter erupted echoing all over "What's funny old man?" I hollered as I ducked in time dodging yet another parry of a sword.
"Your father said something similar to me when I was training him but he wasn't as bad as you."
Oh, he didn't just say that.
With furious anger, I opened my arms welcoming my attackers and they didn't hesitate.
A sword swung through the air towards my neck and I tilted my body sideways as the weapon slashed in front of me. I knew another attack was coming and I dove forward as another sword came swinging "Impressive."
I'm not done, old man.
I didn't hesitate this time, knowing full well the strain on my mental state I focused on my powers.
I watched as my hands began to glow, slowly at first but within mere moments they were ablaze. I was holding two suns in my hands as I couldn't hold in my smirk.
Liquid brightness dropped from my fists like lava and the statues for once in my entire life halted.
"What? Scared of a little sunshine Pinocchios?" I glared.
I took a fighting stance and prepared.
"You called sir?" Came a new voice in the dark.
"Oh hello, Tom."
Tom!... Tom is here!
I spun around and tried to squint through the darkness "Tom?"
The next second pain coursed through my arm as a sword broke on my skin after impact.
I howled in pain as I jumped back and a light suddenly filled the entire room."Training is over I assume" Jon laughed.
I blushed in embarrassment "That was a cheat."
"Nice of you to be able to conjure a Rapidier all on your own though your method is a bit off, you rather ended up creating a bomb on your hand. If I hadn't...cheated you'd have blown them right off."
"I could've handled it."
"Always so rebellious, you really take after your parents but training is over."
At the sound of his voice, the statues halted in their tracks, freezing with no sign of movement whatsoever.
