VINCENT: Who were they?

I could immediately sense hostility, as fierce as a blazing wildfire. An ability a vampire also had, I could literally feel the danger emanating out of the bodies.

All seven of them had ferocious looking masks, they all looked like dragons, dragons bearing great similarity to the dragons of Chinese mythology.

"Boris?"

"Boris?"

"Don't move master Vincent" Boris whispered calmly.

I could tell from his shaky voice that he was nervous which was very rare for him.

"Who are they?" I whispered slowly.

"They work for the Vampire Council. They want the package the Lords gave your father"

I felt my heart beat rapidly and I gulped, "Are you going to give it to them?"

I knew the answer already but I needed to hear it.

"No sir, not even if it means my life"

I'm guessing my life is also worth postponing.

I watched the bodies as they stood perfectly still at every window.

What Boris said meant that there was the possibility of an attack, in fact, it was more than a possibility.

I watched carefully as they raised their hands and I spotted silver looking claws connected with chains around their wrist. The claws were aesthetically made.

These beings were on a different scale, more dangerous than father's guards.

They gently knocked on the glass at the same time with their silver claws. I looked at Boris, what choice would he make?

A few nerve-wracking seconds passed before...

Boris opened his door, "Hello" he said bluntly.

The silence was all he got.

I prepared for the worst as I gripped my palms tightly, no Peville would hide and cower in fright.

"Is that the boy of the prophecy?" came a very deep ruffled voice.

Prophecy?

"Yes, I'm supposed to take him to Moonsville as soon as possible"

"The Council heard that the Lords of the Kingdoms tasked his father with an artifact. Is this true?"

"No"

"Our sources claim that there was indeed a package"

"Maybe but I wasn't made aware."

"You know that the Grimm have found a foothold in our territory. By obtaining one of the sacred artifacts they've gained a following."

"Yes," Boris replied simply.
