Chapter 4

Xia was hanging out with Lei, Xi Men and Mei Zuo when they got word that Jing was back.

"Jing is back? Xi Men, go get Ahia." Xia excitedly said and Xi Men nodded before going to get Dao Ming Si. Soon, they were walking along the hallway and met up with Jing. Both parties stopped a short distance from one another. Xia spoke first.

"Jing, I missed you." She said as she hugged the girl and the said girl hugged her back tightly.

"I missed you too, Princess. You've gotten taller and even more beautiful." Jing complimented which made Xia blush as she stepped away from the hug to let the others have their turn.

"Welcome back." Ah Si said as he hugged her as well. Xi Men followed after him and Mei Zuo followed after Xi Men and they all stepped aside so that Lei and Jing could face each other.

Xia could feel her heart breaking as she tried her best to keep the smile on her face. She knew that Jing's return meant that she could never get the chance to tell Lei how she felt. She was surprised though when a hand grabbed her left one. She looked up to see Mei Zuo looking down at her knowingly. She smiled sadly at him as she placed her attention back to the reunion happening in front of them. Jing stepped closer to Lei.

"Lei, I'm back." Jing said and Lei just smiled at her, not saying anything. Jing then hugged him tightly.

"I've missed you." She said and Lei couldn't help but return her hug.

That night, they were seated at a round table, laughing and sharing stories about the past as well as the things that Jing missed while she was away.

"I still think it's funny." Xi Men stated as they all laughed except for Lei who just sat there eating his meal.

"This place hasn't changed. But you guys... After three years, you're no longer high school students, but university students now. And Princess Xia is well on her way to getting her second degree; our little genius. Luckily, you guys haven't changed. I'm glad." Jing stated.

"Hey, the six of us grew up together. You can say we're childhood friends." Dao Ming Si said with a laugh.

"Ah Si hasn't changed. You're still the jokester." Jing said and Xia added.

"Yes, he still thinks like he's in grade school." She laughed as Ah Si poked her side.

"You're wrong. I'm more amazing now. I'm doing my own investment. I'm paying for my own tuition fees." He bragged which made Xia roll her eyes again.

"As if I'm not doing the same and from a younger age too." She said as she stuck her tongue out at her older brother.

"That is pretty amazing." Jing told Ah Si before looking at Xia.

"And we all know how brilliantly gifted you are, Xia. I expected nothing less. Your older sister must be proud of both of you. I haven't seen her in a while. How is she?" Jing continued.

"She got married last year." Xia sadly said as she remembered her sister and her loveless marriage.

"She's moved to England with her husband." Ah Si continued, just as sad.
