Chapter 2

Xia was walking towards her first class of the day with her brother and their friends. Her brother was in the lead as they climbed some stairs when all of a sudden, cake sailed through the air and into his hair and face. Xia tried her best to contain her laughter because she knew whoever did this would face his wrath. She looked at ahead of her brother and saw Shan Cai and Li Zhen.

"You again." Ah Si said, remembering them from the hall way incident.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that." Li Zhen apologized.

"If apologies worked, why would we need the police?" Dao Ming Si angrily said.

"Dao Ming Si, let me help you clean up." Li Zhen offered and went to help him. As soon as her fingers touched his face, he shoved her away.

"Go away!" He reacted and Xia was about to step in and help her friends but Lei held her back. He didn't want her in the middle of that mess. Shan Cai ran to her friend and helped her up, asking if she was okay. By this time, Ah Si was already walking up the stairs.

"Hey! Come back here!" Shan Cai yelled as she ran to block his way. Dao Ming Si stopped walking.

"She didn't mean to do it. She apologized to you, didn't she? Why do you have to be so mean? Why can you be more like your sister who accepted my apology, huh?" At this, Ah Si looked at her.

"You're an arrogant, green shoe-wearing, pineapple head.  You think you're popular at school so you can do whatever you want. You didn't apologize for breaking my phone and your sister had to offer to replace it. You're just a jerk." Shan Cai insulted him.

He suddenly pulled her face closer so he could speak to her in a low tone.

"So, it was you. You've got guts." He said as he let her head go and started walking away again. Xi Men and Mei Zuo immediately followed after him. Xia sighed as she bent down to pick up the card from the pieces of cake on the floor with Lei beside her. She walked towards where Shan Cai was and handed her the card.

"I'm sorry you guys." She stated before looking at Li Zhen who was a few steps behind Shan Cai.

"Li Zhen, I hope you still have a happy birthday." She said with a smile as Lei placed an arm on her waist and led her away.

It was night time, and Xia was walking towards the library where her brother usually stayed after classes to check on the stock market or to study.

"Ahia." Xia called out to her older brother once she entered the library.

"What is it, Meimei?" Ah Si answered.

"Why did you argue with them? And you pushed Li Zhen! She's a girl." Xia scolded her older brother who just rolled his eyes.

"Why didn't you tell me you knew who pushed you down that day after Mr. Bobbit's lecture?" He retorted and this time, Xia was the one who rolled her eyes.

"I know you will do something drastic. Please leave them out of this, Ahia." Xia tried to sway her older brother's decision.

"You know your eyes work on me every time except when it comes to your safety. I won't let this incident pass. Besides, I need to get my revenge for the cake incident as well." Ah Si told her before standing up, shutting the laptop close and walking out of the library. Xia just sighed. She hoped no harm would come to Shan Cai and her friends.
