Xia just finished her shower and was drying her hair while going through her laptop when someone knocked on her door.

"Come in." She called out without asking who it was. She looked up from her position on the chair in front of her office desk to see Hua Ze Lei walk in.

"Leilei. Have a seat." Xia said with a smile as she gestured for him to sit down. He did so at the edge of her bed before leaning back and laying down. Xia smiled and sat beside him before laying back as well. They both looked up at the ceiling that had a mosaic of color that glowed when it was dark.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?" She asked him after a moment of silence.

"I just wanted to see how you were doing. You were busy with work and spending time with the girls yesterday afternoon and with last night's events, we didn't really get the chance to talk and catch up, personally. I'm sorry we drugged you, by the way." Lei told her.

"Eh, I don't blame you guys. I was honestly just in a panic. I could only imagine finding Ahia and Shan Cai dead and that didn't sit well with me. My question, though, is why did you leave me with Mei Zuo?" Xia asked him.

"I was the one who caught you when you passed out. I was gonna carry you to your room but he took you into his arms and said he would do it himself." Lei recapped.

"I thought he hated me. Ever since I broke up with him, I've been dodging his calls. Apart from that drunken one I'm not sure he even remembers. He should hate me." Xia said with conviction.

"Why do you want him to hate you so bad?" Lei asked her.

"Don't you get it, Leilei? You know what my mother has planned for me. Better for him to hate me right now so he doesn't get hurt from all of it later." Xia explained.

"He couldn't possibly hate you. He loves you. He's still in love with you." Lei told her.

"You know what the worst thing about that fact is? That I can't tell him that I'm in love with him too." Xia answered as tears started to fall from her face. Lei didn't say anything but he pulled her to his side and Xia rested her head on his chest instead, laying down sideways and cuddling up to her best friend. Neither of them noticed the silhouette of a person standing outside the door and peeking inside the room.

Lei and Xia were arm in arm and heading downstairs. They reached the bottom when they met Shan Cai in the hallway. Shan Cai stopped in front of them.

"Hua Ze Lei. Dao Ming Xia. Thank you. I heard it all from Xiao You." Shan Cai thanked them.

"You're welcome. It didn't sit well with me how some people could put a life in danger. That was very irresponsible." Lei answered.

"I still haven't forgiven those girls because of a prior incident. So, it wasn't really a big deal." Xia brushed it off lightly, still not used to people thanking her.

"Anyway, it must've been traumatic for you. Are you feeling okay?" Lei asked Shan Cai.

"I'm the undying weed, Shan Cai. I'm totally fine." Shan Cai replied.

"This is why people worry about you." Lei informed her.

"Oh, come on, Leilei. Lighten up. Shan Cai, that's the spirit. Fighting!" Xia happily said. Shan Cai just smiled at her before looking back at Lei.
