Lei had just left his music class when Xi Men and Mei Zuo dragged him into an empty classroom.

"Lei, you've always avoided getting involved before. Why is it different this time?" Xi Men confronted him about Shan Cai.

"Lei, do you know what you're doing? I really don't understand you anymore." Mei Zuo asked him and he wanted so badly to tell them that he was doing it for Xia. But, that would only complicate things and he couldn't have that.

"Mei Zuo, it's not that you don't understand me. The circumstances are different this time. Do you think Dao Ming Si and Shan Cai can be together again?" Lei played the part and he played it well.

"We're not sure. But since you got involved, this matter has gotten worse. There's no more room for negotiation." Xi Men answered.

"Maybe. What does Ah Si think?" Lei wanted to know if Xia was right about her brother, if what he was doing was pushing him towards Shan Cai and not away from her.

"You're even smiling. Do you know Ah Si got so drunk last night? He said he was celebrating for you and Shan Cai. What celebration? Xi Men and I knew that he just wanted to escape the pain." Mei Zuo angrily said.

"You know we're not siding with Ah Si. But do you really need to do this? Must Shan Cai be Jing's replacement?" Xi Men hit a spot in Lei.

"Don't say things like that. Shan Cai is not Jing's replacement. They're different individuals. No person can replace another." Lei answered.

"You even asked for a fair competition. You're just adding insult to injury." Xi Men said as he grabbed Lei by the collar but Lei remained unfazed. Mei Zuo stopped Xi Men.

"Xi Men. Lei is not like that. Don't say those things to him. Lei, explain yourself." Mei Zuo asked and Lei pushed Xi Men away.

"Instead of arguing with me, you should remind Ah Si not to escape reality and be honest with himself." He advised before walking out of the classroom.

Xia was having dinner with Jin Shun in a posh restaurant that night. She planned to formally inform him that she herself was backing out of the arranged marriage that their parents set up. She was about to open her mouth and talk when Jin beat her to it.

"Xia, I'm glad you invited me for dinner tonight. There's actually a few things that I wanted to talk to you about regarding our engagement." He told her and Xia nodded as she listened.

"I recently found out that Xiao Ling is pregnant. She's 4 weeks along." He stated and Xia smiled.

"Congratulations." Xia happily said and Jin just gave her a half smile. She noticed that.

"Aren't you happy? Do you not want to be a father?" She asked him and he vehemently shook his head.

"It's not that. I am very excited to be a dad. It's just that... she wants to leave me... to keep the baby safe." He stated as he looked down at his plate.

"Leave you? Why would she do that?" Xia asked in disbelief.

"She believes that once my parents find out, they'll do something to get rid of the baby or take the baby away from her. She doesn't want that. She doesn't want our child growing up in that environment." Jin problematically admitted.
