Chapter 21

On the day of the competition, Xia was watching the live stream from her office in London. It was early morning but she opted to come to the office because she had meetings afterwards. She watched how the Final 10 contestants were introduced one by one and took notice of how pretty Zhou Cai Na was.

'She really is Zuo's type. I wonder if she'll fall easily for his charm.' She thinks to herself as she smiled a bittersweet smile. The other contestants were then introduced and Shan Cai was last. Xia laughed when Shan Cai said something about being on TV and the reporter commented on it being cute.

"Ahia really knows how to pick them." She said out loud to no one in particular. She did her paperwork while watching the live stream that was now showing some commercials.

Meanwhile, in the audience of the cooking competition, Dao Ming Si sat with Hua Ze Lei beside him and Feng Mei Zhuo and Xi Men Yan behind them.

"What the hell? There are so many commercials." Ah Si complained.

"Ah Si, the official competition hasn't started yet. Just be patient." Xi Men advised.

"It's been forever. It's been like one hour, right? Even Xia's competition didn't feel this long." He asked Lei.

"It's only been five minutes, okay?" Mei Zuo mentioned.

"He's in love. Days feel like years to him." Xi Men teased. Mei Zuo felt a pang of sadness hit him because he knew how that felt. He felt it when he was with Xia. But, he decided to act like he was unaffected and leaned in to talk to Xi Men.

"That Cai Na looks even better in person." He mentioned.

"You're watching someone else? Didn't you just break up with Princess? Ah Si will beat you up." Xi Men told him.

"She broke up with me. And now, I want nothing more to do with her." Mei Zuo coldly said as the mask he was wearing for everyone fell before he placed it back on as the host announced the official start of the competition.

Xia watched as Shan Cai passed the first round of the competition. She had a lot of faith in the girl and had no doubt that Shan Cai would pass with flying colors. However, when it was announced that a pastry round would be next, she started to worry a little. In their lessons, Xia and Shan Cai did not focus much on Pastries. She had no idea how much Zhuang taught her so this worried her a little. But, she also knew that Shan Cai was resourceful and she wasn't one to easily give up. This made her breathe a little easier. The time limit was up and Xia listened to the judges comment on the visual appearance of Shan Cai's dish which made some of the contestants laugh.

"Come on, Shan Cai. Remember what it takes to win this competition." Xia whispered to herself. She then smiled as Shan Cai explained what the meaning of her dish was to the judges and them look impressed at the history behind it. Everyone applauded at her explanation. Commercials then rolled in and Xia nervously sighed, waiting for the results to be announced. When the commercials ended, Jing Mei, a senior that Xia knew, started to announce the finalists who would be competing in the last round.
