Chapter 12

Xia was walking to her locker from her last class. It was one of her more challenging subjects and required a heavy textbook that she couldn't bear to lug around. She was struggling to carry the heavy book, her bag, her phone and a coffee when someone came and took her bag and book off her. She turned and saw Mei Zuo smiling.

"Hey! Where were you and Xixi when Ahia and I arrived this morning? Were you hiding because I texted you that I told him I slept over?" Xia teased him with a grin and Mei Zuo laughed as he shook his head.

"Xi Men and I had to pick up a friend from the airport." He cryptically replied as Xia frowned.

"Who?" She asked him but another voice answered.

"It's so nice to see you again, Princess." Xia slowly turned around to face the owner of the familiar voice, to find her best friend.

"Leilei!" She happily cried out as Mei Zuo took the coffee from her and she ran towards Lei, jumping into his arms and him catching her so easily. She hugged him tight and he hugged her back just as much.

"Did you just land this morning?" She asked him as she untangled himself from his arms and planted her feet firmly on the ground again. She started walking while looking at him and all the boys matched her pace. They walked in a straight line, Xi Men, Lei, Xia and Mei Zuo. Mei Zuo handed Xia her coffee and Xia habitually kissed him on the cheek. Lei, not used to this happening right in front of him paused a little but shook it off.

"Yes, I did. I wanted to surprise Shan Cai, you and Ah Si." Lei said with a smile and Xia could feel her smile diminishing when he said Shan Cai's name first but she shook it off.

"How was France? And how's Jing?" She asked, trying to make conversation.

"France was fine. Where is Ah Si anyways?" Lei answered the first but avoided the second question and Xia knew that she had to find out what happened between Jing and Lei later on.

"Probably somewhere bothering Shan Cai." Xi Men answered with a small laugh.

"My guess, probably by the big staircases." Mei Zuo suggested and they all headed towards that direction. His guess was right as they found him holding a phone up and Shan Cai jumping up and down to get it. Xia and Lei walked slower, wanting to give the two some more time but Mei Zuo and Xi Men wanted to get closer to the show.

"Of course, you're not a dog. Dogs are much more obedient." Xia saw her brother put his face closer to Shan Cai's.

"Dao Ming Si." Shan Cai called out in a warning tone and Mei Zuo couldn't help but tease them.

"The couple's bickering again?" He said and Shan Cai and Ah Si looked away from each other.

"Who's bickering with..." Shan Cai started to say but stopped when she saw Mei Zuo and Xi Men observing them. Ah Si looked behind both guys and saw her sister and his best friend.

"Lei!" He happily called out and Xia watched as Shan Cai looked at Lei with a confused look on her face.

"Hi, I'm back." Lei said with a smile.

"He just arrived this morning. He called us when he landed." Xi Men explained.

"Ah Si, we should get together tonight." Mei Zuo suggested.
