Chapter 10

Xia couldn't hear what they were saying but assumed it wasn't good when her brother started screaming.

"Then why did you lie to me?" Ah Si angrily asked. Xia saw Shan Cai say something, but in the end, her brother just walked away from her.

"You guys, follow Ahia. Make sure he doesn't get into any trouble. I'm counting on you." Xia requested and the three of them split up. She made her way towards Shan Cai who was standing there, still dripping wet.

"Shan Cai. Are you okay?" She asked as she grabbed the said girl's hands. Shan Cai was staring blankly into space.

"He doesn't believe me." She said and Xia hugged the girl, not caring if her clothes got wet and dirty as well.

"Ahia just found out, Shan Cai. He's still in shock. Trust me when I say he'll believe you when he brews down." Xia gently told her friend as she soothingly ran her hands through Shan Cai's head as the said girl tried not to cry. Xia pulled away from the hug.

"Come on. I have extra clothes in my locker. You can borrow them. I'll help you clean up." She said as she held out her hand for Shan Cai to take. Shan Cai just stared at her outstretched hand before looking at her.

"I don't want them to talk behind your back as well for hanging out with me." Shan Cai admitted and Xia scoffed.

"Who cares about what they think? Let them try and hurt me, I'll make them hurt 100x more." Xia challenged. Shan Cai sighed before taking Xia's outstretched hand and the two started walking. They were heading towards the restroom from Xia's locker when two girls gossiping loudly made Xia stop.

"Look, she even has princess wrapped around her finger. Poor Xia, letting herself fall into the lies of Dong Shan Cai. Doesn't she care that Shan Cai cheated on her brother?" Xia looked at the two girls who were gossiping.

"What proof do you have?" She said with a smile.

"I'm sorry, princess. But, what?" The other one asked her.

"What proof do you have that Shan Cai cheated on my brother? Did you even look at the pictures carefully? The guy was fully clothed and wasn't even in the bed with Shan Cai. Everyone's just assuming that they slept together without even asking Shan Cai what really happened." Xia angrily said. The two girls looked at the floor, unable to say anything. Xia continued speaking.

"Shan Cai is my friend but Dao Ming Si is my brother. Don't you dare think that I don't care about my brother just because I'm helping Shan Cai out. I believe she is innocent and you're just jealous girls who can't take the fact that Shan Cai caught my brother's eye. So, you help spread false rumors about her. Well, I hope you're happy that you're ruining some innocent person's life just because of your petty jealousy. Let's go Shan Cai." Xia walked away, pulling Shan Cai with her. They reached the bathroom and Xia looked at the three girls who stared as they entered.

"You three, get out." She ordered and they hurriedly complied. Xia locked the door behind them and sighed as she leaned against the sink. She started rubbing her forehead, feeling a headache coming on as Shan Cai stood there, unable to believe that Dao Ming Xia just stood up for her.

"Xia..." She started to say but Xia looked at her with a certain fierceness in her eyes.

"Shan Cai. Don't ever let anyone put out your flame. Keep on fighting and never give up." She encouraged.
