Chapter 7

The Next Day

Jess' P.O.V.

I woke up at 8 and went to the kitchen to make some breakfast. Then there was a knock at the door so I went over and looked thought the peephole before opening it. I smile when I see that it's Jay.

"Hey beautiful," Jay smirks.

"Shouldn't you be at work?" I question.

"Nothing was going on so I asked Voight if I could have the day off to take care of you," he explains.

He comes inside and sits on the couch.

"How about I get dressed and we move this party over to your apartment in case Adam gets home early," I suggested.

"If that's what you want," he smirked.

I went into my bedroom and tried to throw on a dress but I got stuck.

"Jay I need help!" I yelled.

He came running in gun in the air ready to shoot.

"Woah calm down boy, I just need help getting this dress on," I giggled.

Jay helped me and we headed to the car. It was nice to finally spend time with Jay. We never really established what we were and I can't help but think that I'm a rebound. When we got to Jay's apartment he helped me and I sat on the couch. He grabbed a water for both of us and sat down next to me.

"So I've been thinking for a while now and I was just wondering if you would be my girlfriend?" He asked.

I smiled very wide, "I would love to be your girlfriend. But I do have one question."

"Whats that?" Jay asked confused.

"I'm not a rebound am I?" I questioned.

"Of course not! I've liked you for a while but I thought if I ever tried anything 
Adam would kill me," He laughed.

I kissed him, "I'm glad we cleared that up."

"Now what?" He raised an eyebrow.

"I have an idea," I smirked.

I grabbed his hand and lead him to the bedroom.

A few hours later..

Adam's P.O.V.

We got out of work a little early so I decided to pick up pizza on the way home for Jess and I. I walk into the apartment and it's quiet. I put the pizza on and island and then call out for her and no response. I check her room and she not there. I decided to call her and no response. I call Jay and no response. Now I'm starting to get worried. I hop in my car and head over to Jay's place. I knock and no response, so I decide to use my emergency key. I walk into the apartment and call out for them and no response I check in Jay's room and there they are. Sleeping.

"Hey!" I yell.

Jess' eyes shoot open.

"I can explain," she pleaded.

"Then explain," I say.

"Jay came over to take care of me but we decided to come back to his place in case you came home from work and wanted to nap," she explained.

"And now she's my girlfriend," Jay smiled.

"We're leaving," I demand. "I'm assuming you aren't dressed, so you might want to go do that."

Jess' P.O.V.

"Adam hates me," I sighed.

"He'll come around, he's just still heartbroken from Burgess," he said.

"Can you help me get dressed?" I ask.

"Of course," he smiled.

After we came out of Jay's room Adam was sitting on the couch. When he saw us get up he headed for the door.

"Jay, would you like to come over for dinner?" He asked. "I bought pizza."

"Are you sure that's okay?" He questioned.

"Yes, I feel like I should apologize and the best way is over dinner," he explained.

I went with Adam in his car and Jay went in his own car. When we met up back at the apartment Jay helped me inside. We all ate and Adam and Jay tried to talk things out. I looked at the clock and realized it was 9:30.

"We have to get to the airport!" I shouted. "I'm suppose to be picking up Cara."

We all went into Jay's car and went to the airport. I got out of the car and went to baggage claim. As soon as I saw Cara I ran towards her.

"I'm so excited you're here!" I shouted.

"No need to yell," she laughed. "Can we go back to your house? I'm beat."

"Let's go." I said.

We walked towards Jay's car and Adam got out.

Adam's P.O.V.

I got out of the Cara to meet Jess' new friend. Wow she is beautiful.

"I'm Adam, Jess' brother," I give her a smile.

"Cara," she blushes.

Jess hops in the front so I jump in the backseat with Cara.

"How long are you staying?" I asked.

"I'm suppose to be staying a few weeks, but my boss said if I really like it here she will transfer me permanently." She explained.

We made small talk on the way back to the apartment. When we got there Jay just dropped us off and the three of us went into the apartment. Cara helped Jess get changed and we went to bed.
