A Jay Halstead Love Story

Chapter 28

Jess' P.O.V:

    I woke up to Isabella crying. Jay didn't look like he was planning on getting up so I decided to go get her. When I go her I changed her and went in the kitchen to make her bottle. While I wait for her bottle I start to peel potatoes for mash potatoes. My phone goes off so I check my texts. Cara texted me that she's making sweet potatoes, Kev is bringing corn and cranberry sauce, Hank said he is going to bring pies and cookies and Will is bringing the stuffing. I text them all back thanking them.

    I feel Jay wraps his arms around me, "Hey sweetie."

    "Hey Halstead," I smirk.

    "Did you make coffee already?" He asks.

    "I did not, I'm sorry," I frown at him.

    "Not a problem baby. I'll make coffee and then I can feed Bella for you," He explains.

    "Are you sure? I don't want you  to do all that," I reply.

    "Jess, you are doing all the cooking for today. It is the least I can do," He says.

    "You are the best," I turn around and kiss him.

    "Maybe I'll get a little more of that later," He smirks.

    "Well see about that," I wink.

    Jay grabs the bottle and then grabs Isabella. They sit down on the couch and he starts feeding her. I watch them for a little bit just smiling. Jay turns on the TV and watches the Macy's day parade.

Two Hours Later...

    Jay and I decided to shower while Isabella went down for a nap. It was just easier for the two of us to shower together.

    "Thank was nice," Jay winked.

    "We just needed to save sometime. Don't expect it to happen again," I laugh.

    "Come one babe, you're just so attractive," he smiles.

    "Just get dressed," I throw his clothes at him. "Cara and Adam will be here soon. Cara wanted to cook the potatoes here."

    "I'm moving as fast as I can," He rolls his eyes.

    "Don't get sassy mister, especially if you want to get something later," I wink.

    I decided to get changed into a maroon sweater dress with black knee high boots. Then I put on some light makeup. By the time I am finished the doorbell rings. I open the door and Adam and Cara are at the door. I hug Cara and Adam kisses my cheek.

    "Hey sis, where is the baby," Adam immediately asks.

    "She is actually taking a nap right now so please do not bother her," I say.

    "Fine, I'll go hang out with Jay," He sighs.

    Not too long after everyone started arriving. I was happy to see that everyone could make it. Even though I'm not a big fan of Upton I still invited her and I was happy she came so she wasn't sitting at home. Cara, Burgess, Platt, Natalie and Upton helped me cook at set the table. While we were cooking we were all drinking wine and dancing around the kitchen. While we were doing that the boys watched football and every once in a while you heard someone scream at the TV.

    "Boys! Come sit down at the table we are about to eat," I shout.

    The first one in the kitchen is of course Adam holding Isabella. He loves her so much and I can't wait for him to have a kid of his own. When we all sat down at the table Jay stood up.

    "So I would like to say a couple words. I am thankful for everyone sitting here today. You guys are all my family and I wouldn't want anyone else to be here spending this holiday with us," He looks at me and smiles. "Now Jessica Ruzek I have a few things to say to you. From the moment I met you I knew you would be the one. I will admit Adam did scare me off a little bit and thought it wouldn't be a good idea for us to become more than friends. When I got you from the airport that day I knew my life was about to change. I didn't know why at the time but I'm glad it was because of you. Now I know I'm rambling and you all want to eat but I thought this right now would be the perfect time. Jessica Nicole Ruzek I love you so much and I have never loved anyone as much as I love you. I love the child we have together and the little family we have created. But now I want more. I want you to be my wife so I know you will be here forever by my side."

    Jay pulls my away from the table a little, pulls a box out of his pocket and gets down on one knee. "Jessica Nicole Ruzek, would you marry me?"

    I nod my head while crying, "Yes, I will marry you!"

    I give Jay a huge kiss and hug. Everyone around us is clapping and all the girls are crying.

    "Let's eat," I smile through the tears.

    After dinner the girls helped me clean up then we had dessert. A little while after everyone decided to head home. They all congratulated us as they left.

    "I can't believe this," I smile looking at the ring.

    "It was an impulse thing," He chuckled. "I was going to do it closer to christmas but I felt now was the right time."

    "It was perfect," I kiss his lips softly.

    "I will go put Isabella down for bedtime," He smiles and brings her to her room.

    I take a photo of my ring and post it on instagram with the caption He Asked and I said Yes!
   
    Jay then walked over to me and kisses my head, "Ready for bed?"

    "I think we need to celebrate," I grab his hand and lead him to the bedroom.
