Chapter 10

Jess' P.O.V.

Will just dropped the ball that I am pregnant.

"H-how far a-a-along am I?" I ask him.

"About a month and a half." He explains. "Congratulations."

"I don't even know how to process this." I say.

"Who would you like me to send up first?" He asks. "And what do I say? Kim mentioned to me that you don't want Jay and Adam knowing what really happened. Jess, you should tell them."

"Can you send up Jay first, but tell Adam everything that happened. Except for the part I told you to leave out," I explain.

Will walks out of the room to go find Jay. I'm still in shock that I'm pregnant. I hope Jay is fine with it. I hear a knock on my door and look up. It's just Jay. He gives me a soft smile and pulls a chair up next to me. He grabs my hand and gently kisses it.

"How are you?" He asks.

"I could be a lot better," I chuckled.

"So what's wrong with you?" He questions. "Will sent me in here and said he was gonna talk to Adam and Cara and we could have some alone time."

"I have three broken ribs and a dislocated shoulder. And that man, he..." A tear falls down my face and I can't even finish my sentence.

Jay pulled me close to him, "It's okay baby, none of this is your fault. Whatever happened to you isn't going to change how I feel about you."

"Jay I have something else to yell you," I say still crying.

"You can tell me anything," He smiles softly.

"Jay," I take a breath. "I'm pregnant."

Jay's mouth drops. He definitely doesn't know how to respond. I don't know what to say either so we just sit in silence. I hear a knock at my door so I look up and Adam and Cara are standing there.

"We need to finish this conversation later," I whisper to Jay.

"Hey sis, feeling any better?" Adam asks.

"I feel like I can't breathe half the time. Did Will say if I have to stay overnight?" I question.

"Yes you do," he replies.

I roll my eyes, "Great."

"I read the report," Adam says softly.

"Adam-," I start to speak but he cuts me off.

"This wasn't your fault Jess. None of it was. I wish this didn't happen to you but we are all here for you," he reminds me.

"Can I have a minute with Cara?" I say to the boys.

They both nod and walk out. Cara walks over and sits in the chair next to me. She gives me a soft smile.

"I have some news but you have promise me you won't tell my brother," I say to her.

"I promise," she says. "So what's up?"

"I'm pregnant," I say softly.

"Tell me it's with your "friend" Jay," she laughs.

"Well now he's my boyfriend," I laugh. "But only like a few hours before you came to Chicago."

"Well he's hot so you guys will make a really cute baby," she giggles.

"Thanks for the words of wisdom," I smile. "So what's with you and Adam," I wink.

"I don't know. He's been really friendly and he's very cute but I don't know if he would ever want to be more then friends," she sighs.

I laugh, "You're probably wrong about that."

The boys knock on the door and we both look up. I wave them in.

Jay's P.O.V:

We walked back into Jess' room. Every time I see her my heart shatters over what happened.

"So Jay and I did some talking and he is going to stay here tonight and I'm going to stay at the apartment with Cara," He explains. "I know I didn't approve this relationship from the start but you guys make each other very happy so I'm happy for you."

"Thanks man," I give him a bro hug.

"Thank you Adam for being so supportive," she smiles at him.

He kisses her head and him and Cara leave. Now Jess and I are sitting in silence.

"Jay, if you don't want the baby it's okay. I really want this baby. I understand though if you don't. Being a cop is hard enough so if you don't want to be in this baby's life I get it," she says softly teary eyed.

"I just need time to think," I say.

I kiss her forehead then her lips. Then I walk out. I know I shouldn't have left but I need to think. I hear her screaming for me as I leave. I text Will.

Meet me at Molly's
