Jay's P.O.V:

I had a hard time sleeping last night from the pain in my ribs. Every time I woke up I would look over to watch Jess and Isabella sleep. Around 6AM Isabella started crying and woke up Jess.

"Babe I'm sorry I couldn't get her," I frown.

Jess starts feeding her, "Jay it's not your fault."

"But I feel so helpless," I sigh.

"You didn't ask for this to happen to you Jay. I'll hand her to you now it's fine," she gives me a soft smile.

Jess finishes feeding Isabella then hands her over to me. I smile at my little baby. Hoping that Will is going to come in soon to say that I can leave. About an hour passes before someone knocks on the door frame. I look up to see Connor Rhodes.

"Hey Connor, what's up?" I say confused.

"Ready to leave?" He smiles and holds the discharge papers.

"That would be awesome," I smile.

He hands Jess the papers. "Sorry Will couldn't give you the good news but there was an emergency," he explained.

"Thanks Connor, I'll call him later," I reply.

"Last thing, remember no work three weeks. If you're still hurting in three weeks then you'll have to be out longer," he says.

"I will be fine Dr.Rhodes," I smile.

I finish signing the papers so my little family and I can leave. Adam dropped Jess' car off last night so we could get home. Of course Jess wouldn't let me drive.

Jess' P.O.V:

When we got back to the apartment Jay went straight to our bedroom to lie down.

"You in pain?" I ask.

"Nothing I can't handle," he says.

"Take your meds," I hand him 2 pills.

He frowns, "Thank you."

Throughout the day everyone is texting and calling me to see how Jay is doing. I had to call Voight and tell him Jay is out for 3 weeks. After about an hour Jay falls asleep on our bed.

Two Weeks Later...

I wake Jay up out of a sound sleep.

"Come On sleepy head," I smile.

"Why are we up early?" He asks while pulling me closer to him.

"I go back to work next week so Isabella needs a daycare center," I reply.

He groans and pulls me on top of him, "Five minutes."

"Jay," I say sternly.

"Yes babe," he replies while kissing my neck.

Then the monitor is ringing with cries from Isabella.

"Duty calls," I smirks.

"We never have fun anymore," he says.

"Maybe you should stop getting hurt," I wink and walk to Isabella's room.

I heard Jays footsteps follow right behind me. I go to pick up Isabella but Jay runs past me and scoops her up. I whip my head around to look at him and he's standing in his flannel pajama bottoms and no shirt. I can help but stair at him and bite my lip.

"You like?" He winks.

I roll my eyes, "I have to get dressed."

I take a quick shower and get dressed. By the time I'm finished so is Jay and he even got Isabella ready. After two hours of searching for the perfect daycare we find nothing.

"How many more on your list," Jay groans.

"This is the last one sweetie," I smile.

We go to the door and notice you need a code to get in. You can see all the security cameras all over. I look over and Jay and smile knowing this is the place. After talking to the director she informed us that they have cameras inside that would show us Isabella and we could watch from our phones. After we officially sign Isabella up we can go home happy knowing our baby will be safe.

A Week Later...

My alarm clock goes off and I sigh. First day back at work since I had Isabella. I feel Jay roll over and he wraps his arms around me and pulls me closer.

"Five more minutes," he mumbles.

"You don't want to see if you're cleared for work?" I smirk.

"That's today?" He says enthusiastically.

"Yup, we have to drop Isabella off first," I reply.

He jumps out of bed and I can hear him getting all of her stuff together. She decided she didn't want breast milk anymore and wants formula now. Which is so much easier for when Jay watches her or when we go out. I come out of the bed room and I see Isabella's bag on the counter.

"You finished packing her up already?" I question.

"And I made you coffee," he smiles. "Extra sweet just like you."

"Aren't you thoughtful this morning," I smile.

We hear Isabella crying through the monitor.

"I got it babe, enjoy your coffee," he walks away.

I sit down at our island and drink my coffee. After I finish I get ready to go to work. Jay and I were lucky enough that Isabella didn't cry when we dropped her off at the daycare. I cried a little and Jay made fun of me. When we finally arrive at the district I couldn't be happier. Jay and I walked in and said hi to Platt then we make our way upstairs. I am immediately hugged by Kevin.

"Little Ruz! How are you feeling?" He smiles.

"I feel great," I smile back.

After a long day we solved the case and caught the criminal.

"Who wants to go to Molly's?" Adam asks.

Jay looks at me, "lets go."

"Someone has to pick up Isabella and watch her," I say.

"I'll go ask Platt," Jay runs down the stairs.

Less than a minute later he comes back with a stupid smile plastered on his face.

"Platt just left to pick up Bella and we can go to Molly's but first we have to drop off the car so we can Uber there," Jay smiles.
