A/N: This one goes out to the exceptional @blackveilsinwhite - thank you for last night's double-update. Here's one right back atcha, my dear! :)

The Alpha sat on the floor of the largest room in the daycare, his long legs folded beneath him 'Indian style' and clutching the hardcover book in his right hand. He held it extended outward to his right side, in hopes that all of the pups could see the colorful artwork. "On Monday he ate through one apple," he read slowly, enunciating each word carefully for the little ones. He paused for a minute to point to the red apple depicted in the book's artwork. "Do you see the apple?"

Little blonde Val sat there staring at the Alpha with massive, curious blue eyes, but it was three-year-old Alexander who squealed. "Ewww! He's inside it!"

Five-year-olds Rex and Elijah looked utterly bored with the entire ordeal, but four-year-old Jacob was seated on the Alpha's left with his little hand resting on the much larger wolf's thigh. He nodded slowly. "That's his sustenance."

The Alpha's brown eyes widened. "That's a very big word, Jake. Great job!" He offered his large hand to the toddler who slapped him an exuberate high-five.

Two-year-old identical twins Iowa and India were seated to the Alpha's right, somewhat hiding behind the book. The more outgoing of the pair, Iowa had shoved the book aside for a moment and was currently crawling into the Alpha's lap, face first. She stumbled and struggled a bit, but he quickly lifted her and righted her little body, then set her back down into his lap. "Hello there," he cooed down at her.

"Unca," she chirped up at the wolf. "Unca, unca!"

Layla was seated in the background and rocking eight-month-old Liam in her arms, with her three-year-old daughter Ellie leaning into her side. While she was still on the carpeted floor, she was not in the pups' circle. She smiled. "Iowa, can you say what I taught you the other day?" Iowa looked a little clueless at this, but she batted her massive brown eyes and continued to look adorable. Layla urged her on again, pointing to the Alpha. "Who is that, Iowa?"

"UNCA KISS!" she cheered, throwing a little fist into the air and slugging the wolf in the chin.

Chris laughed at this, placing a gentle kiss atop her tiny little fingers. "That's right. Wow, Iowa, you are smarter than me!"

"Doesn't take much," Rain quipped from her spot on the carpet. Clutching the sleeping Sophia in her arms, she grinned. "Just saying."

The Alpha shrugged. "When the lady is right, the lady is right."

Rex glanced from Rain to the Alpha, then frowned. "My mother says that she-wolves are always right, and wolves are always wrong."

Chris chuckled, but pointed a finger at the young wolf. "Indeed, good sir. And you should always remember that!"
