Author's Note: Again, I apologize for not doing this in the first place. A portion of this chapter deals with suicide and a suicide note. If that is something that will upset/trigger you, please skip the chapter or skip the middle section that begins with the line "His Beta had warned him that the contents of the letter would make matters worse for him".

Rain knocked on the door of the Alpha's luxurious personal quarters. When no one answered, she let herself inside and found the little she-wolf curled up in a ball in the center of the massive bed. She sat gently on the side of the bed and patted the pile of blankets. "Ophelia, it's Rain."

"I know," the pile of blankets responded with a sniffle.

"Your Alpha is concerned about you. He says that you haven't been out of bed in several days now, and that you are barely touching your meals." There was no response from the girl, just some soft movements beneath the pile of bedding. Rain frowned. "Ophelia, you have to eat; not eating will harm your pup. Is that what you want?"

"No," the other she-wolf squeaked.

Rain readjusted her position to stare at the black lump. "Ophelia, please come out from there and speak to me."

At this urging, the young wolf's little head peered out from beneath the covers and frowned. "I'm scared, Rain," she confessed in a whisper. "I didn't believe that this could happen so soon. I thought I would have time to adjust – to the pack, to being with the Alpha. To everything. I'm not certain of anything right now, and this is all too overwhelming."

Shocked at how quickly the other woman had admitted her fears, Rain sighed. "It's normal to be frightened," she admitted. "When I came here, when I first mated with Beta Sitkowski, I was scared too. Everything was new, and it was a bit overwhelming, yes. I understand how you feel. But you have to try to step-up and embrace this new life. Your pup needs you to take care of yourself, Ophelia."

"I'm not ready for a pup," the she-wolf sniffled. "I don't want it."

Rain felt a sadness for the young woman, but a certain responsibility to that innocent little pup who, for better or worse, was now growing inside the new Luna. "Ophelia, once you are with pup there is no turning back. Our Alpha would never allow you to end the pregnancy." She gentled her voice then and sadly offered a perfunctory "I'm sorry."

Ophelia bowed her head and stared at her hands. "He said the same thing this morning, and he was not very nice about it."

"A pup is an amazing gift from the goddess," Rain offered, hoping that she could help to turn this situation around. "There is nothing greater in this world than to give birth to a pup, Ophelia. My son is my world. When he was born, I truly came alive."

"But he's the Alpha's," Ophelia observed with a frown.
