"He said that he was going to make an effort to be a more understanding mate and that he knew you were my best friend, so we were going to be allowed to spend time together once again." She paused and giggled. "And he gave me these books from the doctor and said that maybe you'd help me look through them."

Ophelia was lying on the mattress beside her best friend, the massive tome stretched open between them. Crimson crammed a chocolate-covered strawberry between her lips, moaned, and then jabbed a finger into a photograph. "That is truly something out of a fucking horror movie, babe. You're going to do that? Do you know how bad that's got to hurt?"

The Luna eyed the photograph quickly, cringed, and then looked away. "I feel like I have to have the thing if I want to stay Luna. He's pretty adamant that he wants the thing and that he will be very upset if I get rid of it." She chewed loudly on a strawberry and groaned. "He even asked me to try to eat healthier. Why? Do you think it's because I'm so fat?"

Ignoring this, the redhead pointed to another photo and made a retching noise. "Do you fucking see this, though? Do you really want your cunt to look like that?"

The other girl didn't even spare a glance. "I don't want to do any of it, but I think I kind of have to. When I came here to meet the Alpha, my parents were very clear that our position in our pack was very, umm, not good, and we were not entirely wanted. I know for a fact that Alpha Sommers informed my daddy that if he made one wrong move, he would be killed." She seemed to choke up at this confession, her voice dropping in volume. "Daddy begged me to do whatever it would take to make Alpha Cerulli pick me. He said that with his daughter as Luna of the White Lightning Pack, he and mommy would be safe for the remainder of their lives and that the Alpha's threats would stop. I think they also hoped that, one day, they could come to this pack and we could all be together again."

Crimson shook her head and chomped into a second strawberry. "Babe, you've got to stop calling your parents 'mommy' and 'daddy'. Also, I really think you should just call your mate Chris. You're having his pup for fuck's sake. Why do you still call him 'Alpha'?"

"Because he's the Alpha," the Luna stated flatly.

"I don't call my mate Gamma or whatever the fuck his title is." Seeing that she had made no headway with her friend, she sighed and began flipping the pages in the massive medical text. "This is truly horrifying, babes. I mean, if you go through with it good on you, but shit this is fucked up." She paused on a page with a large, close-up photograph and raised a hand to her mouth. "Oh my goddess, what is that?"

Ophelia actually leaned over her friend and read the caption out loud. "A close-up to show detail of an episi- what? What's that word? E-P-I-S-I-O-T-O-M-Y?"

Crimson joined her in eyeing the page closely and shrugged. "No idea, but look! Her vag is literally torn open! No fucking thank you!"

At her proclamation, the door opened slowly and the Alpha peeked his head into the room and glanced at the pair of she-wolves curiously. "Hello ladies. What are we up to today?" He wandered over toward the bed and saw that, thank the goddess, they had the medical text open between them. Maybe his mate had finally learned something. Goddess knows he wasn't sure he could take another conversation like the one that occurred the night before. Clearly Ophelia barely knew the ins and outs of her own body, let alone, what pregnancy truly entailed. At five months along, she should know something, shouldn't she? Even if it was merely knowledge gained first-hand.
