"Not happening," Ryan chuckled at his brother's irritation. He lifted his mug of steaming coffee to his lips, inhaled, and then sighed wistfully. "You can ask it as many times in as many different ways as you like, but it ain't happenin', brotha."

The Alpha spun in his chair to meet his Beta's brown eyes and he looked desperate. "Please?"

"Shit just got real," the Beta laughed, slapping his knee playfully. "You said 'please'! Someone call the goddess and tell her that you're unwell."

"Please?" the Alpha repeated, batting his eyelashes at his sibling. "I need someone I can trust."

Ryan snorted and nearly spewed flaming hot caffeine across the counter. "You need someone who is desperate to appease you, and news flash - that aint' me."

"Please?" Chris repeated, pressing his hands into a silent prayer. "I've tried everything and I cannot get through to her."

The Beta nodded slowly and set his coffee aside. "That might be because you screamed at her so loud that the Full Sail Pack heard you down in Florida. It might also be because you called her stupid or, worse yet, the fact that you impregnated her with a pup that she doesn't seem to want and you insist that she carry to term."

Chris tossed his head down onto the counter in defeat and sighed with great exaggeration. "Would you have allowed Rain to abort your pup?"

"Here's the thing," Ryan defended, waving a hand in the air. "I don't ALLOW Rain to do anything: Rain is a perfectly intelligent she-wolf who makes her own decisions. If you're asking me would I have wanted her to abort our pup, no, not at all. But I would never dictate to Rain what she should decide to do with her own uterus. I'm honored that she wants to bear my pup and I'm ecstatic that I don't have to face a situation such as this."

He paused at the weight of the topic, feeling his heart swell at the thought of his mate and their growing pup. "I love Rain with every fiber of my being," he promised his brother. "And I do not see the day that this would be an issue for us. However, if that day comes and she looks me in the eyes and tells me that she does not want to give birth to my pup, then that is her choice. I would not lock her into a room and place a guard at the door."
