I'M BACK!

I was going to write a whole big thing, but let me spare you that and say that I am fine, all is well, and I have just been bombarded and have had very little free time. I apologize but I do fully intend to finish this book (and hopefully some of the others, too), and THANK YOU SO MUCH for hanging in there with me.

I'm not sure I'll be able to tackle every single comment that comes in, but please know that I read them all and I greatly appreciate everything you say.

I hope everyone is safe, healthy, and doing alright in this truly odd time we're experiencing. Maybe this will help in some small way . . .

With love,
Wednesday #2

Blackness encircled Rick's blue eyes as he tossed himself down onto a chair and groaned with exhausted relief. "The worst of the worries seem to have ended," he confessed with a weak smile. "Thank you for all your help over the past few weeks, Isolde. I don't know what I would have done without you."

The past few weeks had seen an uptick in training sessions and patrols around the compound and, unfortunately, a drastic increase in scrapes, sprains, and other assorted injuries that required his attention. Thankfully, not a single patient had suffered anything more serious than a sprained ankle or a pulled groin muscle, but the dramatic swell of patients might have killed him if not for his new assistant.

"Surely you would have been able to bandage cuts and scrapes without assistance," the beautiful young she-wolf smiled warmly. "You are a wise doctor, Richard. I'm most certain that you could have handled the influx of patients without my assistance."

"Well, your assistance took a lot of pressure off me," he grinned as he leaned his head back and stared at the popcorn ceiling. "It's hard to spend the days handling all the cases alone and then have enough energy when I go home to my family. And, as you know, my pups and mate truly require a lot of my energy."

Isolde beamed at the mention of the doctor's youngsters. Laughing in a gently trilling voice, she began shuffling the papers atop her new desk. "The pups are well?"

The doctor joined her in laughter as his eyes glowed with joy and warmth. "Little Molly is nearly eight months, can you believe it? She is already crawling around, scaring Layla and I often with how fast she can move. And my gruesome twosome are both far too wise for their years. Val has a cold at the moment, and my Ellie has been playing nursemaid to her little brother. There's talk that she might want to follow in her father's paw prints." His smile nearly split his face as he swooned. "They are wonderful and the reason I breathe."

Suddenly snapping back into his senses and realizing that the topic of children was a tough one for the female, Rick quickly sat up and slapped his bony knee. "Alright, let's get everything in order so that we can head home for the night. But first, how is your mate?"

Isolde's gemstone irises were like a disco ball of delight. "My wonderful mate has been educating me on the art of what he refers to as 'sparring' when he has time. And on the days that he is too exhausted to be so physical, he has conceded to allow me to teach him a new language. We are currently on Chapter 2 of 'Teach Yourself Italian.'" She actually allowed herself to giggle at this information. "His pronunciation is an atrocity that which is practically a crime against the language, but I adore that he has allowed me to broaden his horizons. He is a good wolf, a loving mate. I am blessed by the Goddess."

The doctor grinned. "He is a good wolf and I have seen him blossom into his finest form beside you, Isolde." Yawning, he glanced away, frowned at his disastrous mess of a desk and then sighed. "Alright, just to be clear on the schedule for tomorrow, Gisella will be in early tomorrow for her first check-up, and Denise says that she is sending Alex to have the ankle re-wrapped properly. She has left me nothing short of 10 voice mails to inform me that she cannot figure out how to properly wrap the sprain."

Nodding and checking off several items on her paperwork, Isolde frowned. "Isn't it odd that there have been no pregnancies within the pack in all this time? Layla, Rain and the Luna all bore pups around the same time, and aside from that there have been no new pregnancies. In fact, of the last four pups born into the pack, two are Rain's."
