I might do a chapter in a few hours, but I felt like I should do a little thing for 9/11. I know that now it's become a meme, and I feel like I'm the only person in the country who doesn't think those memes are funny. 9/11 was some fucking serious shit. I still have a vague memory of when it happened. I was one year old, my mom had the news on, I was eating a bowl of dry Cheerios with my hands. She was about to switch the news to Sesame Street when the plane struck the first tower, shortly followed by the second one hitting the other one. She called her friend to tell her to turn on the news, and held me on her lap as the broadcast went on. That's all I remember, but whenever I see the old news footage of the attack on the World Trade Center or the Pentagon, I'm just filled with terror. I mean, it looks like a fucking movie scene, except it's not a movie stunt, it's real, and it happened in our country. September 11, 2001 was a dark day in U.S. History and should not, and will not be forgotten.
