Napatulalang napatingin ako sa pintuang nilabasan ni Code.

That man! Kahit sa Headmistress slash auntie niya wala parin siyang respeto.

Nawala lang ang atensyon ko sa pintuan ng tumikhim si Mrs. Vargaz at sakanya ito natuon.

"How about you Ms. Thompson? Do you accept or decline like Code did?" She asked me.

Napaisip naman ako sandali. Kung hindi ko tatanggapin to edi kailangan ko pang mag hanap ng ibang club para may masalihan and that would be a hassle. Minsan pa naman pag tinatamaan ako ng katamaran talagang wala akong ginagawa buong araw.

Tinignan ko naman sa mata si Mrs. Vargaz at ngumiti. "Not like Code I'll accept your offer. I don't wanna lose my ranking on the board this semester, one more year and I'm already graduated on this school and I don't want to lose my streak on the board."

She gleefully clapped her hands then took mine and shake it. Nahihiyang binawi ko naman ang kamay ko sa kanya ng medyo tumatagal na ito.

"I'm sorry about that. I'm just glad that you and Code have different perspective on my offer." She said and composed herself.

Pilit naman akong ngumiti bilang tugon. I'd like to asked what incident she used to blackmail Code earlier. But that wouldn't be a safe question to ask, for now.

"He's a well educated man. He would know the ups and down on your offer and will came up with a decision, maybe tomorrow." Sambit ko na lamang.

Lumapad naman ang ngiting nasa kanyang labi. Pero bigla nalang ito at lumungkot ang kanyang ekspresyon.

Huminga siya ng malalim at nag iwas ng tingin. "Can you do me a favor, Ms. Thompson?" She asked out of the blue, then looked at me seriously straight at the eye.

Tumikhim ako at tumango. "If I can do it, why not?"

"As much as possible, stop Code from being in trouble and getting much attention from the media. It's a simple favor right? Can you do my favor Ms. Thompson?" She asked me.

Napamaang naman ako sa pabor niya. Mahirap ialis si Code sa kapahamakan lalo na sa mga mata ng tao. Lalo na't kalat na sa media ang nangyari dito sa loob ng campus.

Tumikhim ito. "Give me an answer, Ms. Thompson." She said.

Nag aalinlangan naman akong napatango. "I-I'll try my best to do your favor Mrs. Vargaz. It's hard to stop Code from getting trouble, when he is chasing trouble itself and staying him out in the eye of the public is harder when he's a hot topic outside, because of our recent solve case."

Ngumiti naman ito. "I understand your reasoning. Even if I tried to keep the case of Mr. Lois Lavender inside this University only. It will not be help, people can always find ways on leaking it down in the public." She said with sincerity in her tone.

"Thank you for accepting my favor and one more thing before you leave."

"What is it?"

"Don't tell Code on what we just talked about earlier." She said with seriousness.

Tumango naman ako at nag paalam na. Napabuntong hininga na lamang ako paglabas ko sa opisina ng Headmistress.

Napailing nalang ako sa sarili ko ng tamaan ako ng katamaran. Gusto ko nalang muna ipahinga ang utak ko, sa dami ng iniisip ko hindi ko alam kung makakapag focus pa ako sa mga subjects namin ngayon.
