[Chapter:39] (Another Secret Revealed)

Faze

"Labas muna ako." Pag papaalam ko sa kanila. Nilingon naman ako ni Val na busy sa pag gagamot sa sugat ni Zylo. "Saan punta mo? Kakatakas lang natin kay Lucifer, nasisiguro kong hinahanap parin tayo noon." Nag-aalala niyang sabi. "I'll be fine, don't worry. I can be unpredictable, sometimes." I said before heading out.

Dahan dahan kong tinahak ang daan papuntang rooftop ng dormitory. Pag dating ko sa itaas ay nandoon na siya. He was holding his katana while looking up into the sky. "You've gotten much braver and tougher, Zach." He said without looking back at me.

Sinarado ko ang pintuan ng rooftop bago nilapitan siya. The wind blew away his hoody that was hiding his masked face. "What's with the get-up, Lucifer?" I asked. Inabot nito ang maskarang tumatabing sa mukha. "Amenadiel idea." He answered then looked at me. "How's the team holding?" He asked. I sighed. "You nearly kill Jeremy and Wolf, how could you even ask that question?" He laughed, an empty one. "I guess, I almost killed them. I can't control it anymore, Zach. Why is it always me who have to suffer like this?" He asked, bitterly.

Hinawakan ko naman ang katanang hawak niya at hinayaan niya naman akong kunin iyon. Binaba ko naman ito at hinawakan ang balikat niya. "Can you show me your mark?" Tinitigan niya naman ako bago hubarin ang jacket na suot. He was left with his black shirt. Inangat ko naman ang laylayan ng damit niya para makita ang markang nasa gilid ng tiyan niya. I was looking at his mark when he suddenly chuckled. Nag-angat ako ng tingin sa kanya. "What's with the laugh?" Tanong ko bago ibaba ang laylayan ng damit niya.

"A crazy thought just pass by my head, nothing else." He said. Sinamaan ko naman siya ng tingin. "You never change, Luc. I'm loyal to you and all, but sometimes I'm regretting to be your loyal dog." Sumama naman ang mukha nito. "Don't you ever say that you're my loyal dog, Zach. I see you as my friend, my family. Not some dog I can order around, it was your own will to serve me, remember?" I chuckled. "Still the same. I'm happy that even though they're using you, your still the same person I knew."

Sinuot nito muli ang jacket at tinawanan ako. "Of course I'm still me. That crazy old fart cannot change what I am inside. He can use me all he want, but he shall never change my emotions because that's the only thing I have to remember all of you." He said while picking up his katana. "I should get going. There's someone climbing up the stairs, might be Lasley. I cannot let her see me here." Napatingin naman ako sa pintuan ng rooftop. "You're jumping?" Tanong ko ng makitang patalon na ito. Tumango siya. "I'm Lucifer, aren't you informed?" He said jokingly before jumping off. Saktong pagbukas ng pinto ng rooftop ay ang pagkawala ni Lucifer.

Bumungad sa akin si Lasley na tagaktak ang pawis. "What are you doing here, Lasley?" I asked. "Tailing you of course." She bluntly answered. I smirked at her answer. "Lucifer is still out there hunting us, aren't you aware? You could fight and all, but you're no match for him." She pouted. "I know that you jerk."

"Anyway, what are you doing here anyways?" She asked. Nag angat naman ako ng tingin sa kalangitan. "Stargazing." Pagsisinungaling ko. Napaangat naman siya ng tingin sa itaas. "Pinagloloko mo ba ako?" Kunot-noo niyang tanong. I chuckled. "What? I'm only answering your question." Tinuro nito ang kalangitan. "The sky is pitch black you idiot. Walang ni isang bituin ang makita, tas stargazing ang ginagawa mo? Ginagago mo bako?" Nag kibit-balikat ako. "A little I guess?"

She tsked before walking towards me. "Ahm... I actually followed you to ask something." Napatingin naman ako sa kanya. "Shoot." Lalo akong nag taka ng makita ang pag-aalilangan sa mukha niya. "Lasley? You alright? You look pale." Bago ko pa mahawakan ang pisngi niya ay lumayo na ito. I looked at her, confused by her action. "Hey, what's wrong? Did I do something stupid again?" Nag aalalang tanong ko.

Bigla naman ito nag-angat ng tingin. "I'm confused, Faze." Paninimula nito. "What's confusing you?" Natigilan ako ng may makitang luha sa mata niya. "I'm confused of who you really are." Nanigas ako sa kinakatayuan ko ng marinig iyon. I let out a shaky laugh. "What are you talking about? I'm me, I'm Faze Fernandez." She shake her head rapidly. "No! You're not!" She shouted. My mind went blank when I heard her next question. "Who really are you? Are you Zach Von Monasterio or Faze Fernandez? Which of the two are you?!"

I nearly stumbled at my feet when I tried to take a step back. "Answer me, damn it!" When I looked at her face again, she was a mess. She was crying and I can't bear to see it. To see the woman I vow to protect crying because of my stupidity is just heartbreaking. "I-I'm s-sorry." I uttered. I was surprise to myself that I manage to even speak a word infront of her. She laughed coldy. "Are you fucking with me, Faze? Or should I call you Zach now? My fiancé that supposedly dead by now because of an accident?" Bigla naman nag hapdi ang mata ko sa narinig. "Baby, I'm sorry. Forgive me." My legs lost its strength and I knelt on the floor, looking like a fuck up man I am. I can only hear her cry's while I keep saying sorry to her, the only word I could utter.

Nang sinubukan kong lapitan siya ay agad itong lumayo. I could hear my heart breaking into pieces when I heard what she said. "Don't touch me!" She shouted still crying. "Don't come near me. I don't want to see your face, Faze. Give me time to cool my head. I'm begging you, I don't want to caught any sign of your existence while I'm cooling off, so if ever you see me alone don't come near me or even talk to me. I hope you understand where I'm coming from." Her voice was hard and cold. Pakiramdam ko sinasaksak ako ng ilang libong punyal sa puso habang dahan dahan na tumatango ako sa kondisyon niya. "Thank you." She whispered before she smiled at me, an empty one, a fake smile, before leaving me all alone in the rooftop.

Napasigaw nalang ako sa inis. Sa inis sa sarili ko. My head was spinning because of what happened. It was too early for her to know! I stood up in my feet and cry my heart out while thinking of who the hell told her my secret. I sadly smiled while looking up in the sky. My face is damp with my tears that's still constantly dropping. "Fuck my life. I was saved alright! But I lost the only thing that keeping me sane until today." I laughed without humor. "I'm done. I'm fucking done." Napangiti nalang ako ng maalala ang alala namin ni Lasley noong kilala pa akong si Zach Monasterio. "Baby, I love you so much. So much that it hurts." Sinubsob ko nalang ang mukha ko sa tuhod ko bago tahimik na lumuluha. The silent night was the witness of my downfall. The end of my peaceful life with Lasley on my side.
