| baby, you should let me love you |
(highly recommend + put on repeat)

jaylee's pov
monday.

my hands instantly dropped my backpack onto the ground the second I stepped a single foot into my house.

my foot pushed against the front door, causing it to shut a little harder than intended.

"I'm home." I spoke out with a plain tone. i waited for a second, listening for any noises in the house, but it stayed quiet.

my eyebrows narrowed in a confused manner, knowing that my parents come home from work before I get out of school everyday.

I walked through the motionless house, turning the corner into the kitchen-no one.

my eyes darted to the bright orange sticky note on the marble counter, and next to it was my phone.

out of slight excitement, I rushed to the counter, grabbing it quickly. "no way." I mumbled to myself, not believing that my parents actually gave it back to me.

in all honesty, I never thought I was going to see my phone again knowing my parents. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a trick or some sort of test.

my fingers peeled the sticking note off of the counter, bringing it closer to me so I could read it.

-went out for food with some friends, you've earned your phone back.-

my eyebrows raised out of shock, impressed that they were being chill about giving it back after only a week, I would have thought it would've been longer.

I crumbled the delicate paper into my hands, rolling it into a ball before walking towards the trash can and throwing it away.

I clicked on the power button, allowing my lock screen to light up. tons of notifications appeared from me not being on it for a while.

mostly just stores, some snapchats and all of the texts from ethan from when he was worried.

I sat down onto one of the bar stools in our kitchen, letting my eyes travel around my screen, reading the notifications as if it were a book I couldn't stop reading.

I tapped on my messages, seeing ethans name.

11 messages from baby.

a smile slowly spread onto my lips thinking about when he had taken my phone and changed his name to that.

I leaned my elbows onto the counter as my feet rested on the bar that was connected to the bottom of the stool.

my lips rubbed together and I began typing out to him, feeling excited that we would get to talk more.

me: guess who got her phone back

after pressing send, I clicked on the home button, then clicking onto a different app.

almost immediately, my phone had vibrated causing a text message to appear at the top of my screen.
