(highly recommend + put on repeat)Jaylee's pov
my soft finger traced along the edge of my defined top lip, trying my best to wipe away any excess lip gloss.
after finishing that, my fingers tangled through my hair in order to keep it in place.
slowly, I began to stop my hands from moving as my eyes watched myself through the raw reflection.
I inhaled a deep breath through my nose, then pursing my lips as I exhaled through my mouth.
I will not lie and say that this isn't making me nervous, because I'm very nervous.
like I said before, I never go to parties, so being in a house full of people who don't know me puts me on edge a little bit.
maybe that's not the only reason I'm nervous though...
I continued to fix anything wrong that looked off with my makeup, being worried that I would sweat it off.
I'm definitely over thinking everything.
i decided to only wear concealer, mascara and highlighter so I wouldn't look like a hot mess because in all honesty, I have no idea what to expect.
my bathroom door swung open causing my entire heart to pound hard a couple of times.
my eyes landed on sammy in the door frame. one hand up on the white frame while the other was inside of the pocket to his joggers.
"shit sammy." I closed my eyes, exhaling a large breath from being startled. both of my hands gripped onto the counter top to correctly catch my breath.
"sorry." he chuckled lightly as he pushed himself off the door, walking towards me. "didn't mean to scare you."
his cold hands both wrapped around my torso from behind, causing an uneasy feeling to flow directly into the pit of my stomach.
he placed his chin onto my shoulder causing an immediate reaction of my shoulders to raise in discomfort.
he let out a large breath as he looked at the both of us in the mirror. "why are you getting ready?"
using any opportunity I could, I pulled away from him, now standing face to face.
"I'm going to the party tonight since I missed the one last week." I told him as a fact so he wouldn't tell me what to do.
even though I know he's already going to.
his eyebrows raised at my words, almost as if he were shocked. "you actually want to go to a party?" he questioned in disbelief.
I turned back towards the mirror and continued to fix up my makeup, mostly just to have an excuse to not keep talking to him.
"mhm." I hummed getting annoyed with his presence.
"you have never enjoyed parties, jaylee." his eyebrows narrowed. "what's changed?"
