I slammed the door behind me when I entered the Curtis house. I huffed and sat on the couch. "I hate school..." I grumbled.
"I thought you said you had a good day at school!" Ponyboy exclaimed as he sat in the chair.
"I lied," I frowned.
"What happened?" Pony asked curiously.
"Nothing," I sighed. Two-bit suddenly came rushing into the door without warning. "Thanks for sticking up for me Two! I owe ya!" I said.
"Anytime!" Two-bit insisted. "How was your day at school Ponyboy?" Two-bit asked cheerfully.
"Mine was fine! I'm still wondering what Summer's huffin' about!" Ponyboy replied with a frown.
"Oh-" Two-bit started with a chuckle.
"Two-bit!" I snapped.
"She had to hear an earful today from Mr.Struble!" Two-bit laughed.
"No!" A voice gasped butting in. Of course, Sodapop Patrick Curtis!
I rolled my eyes. Here we go...
"Yeah! And you'll like this one, Soda!" Two-bit laughed rubbing his hands together. Oh. No. "Richard-" Two-bit broke out laughing. "Richard slapped Summer's butt! A-And..." Two-bit laughed so hard he couldn't breathe.
Sodapop became angry. "Spit it out, Two!" He scowled.
"Let's just say I took the blame for his swollen face! Your girlfriend doesn't hit like a girl!" Two-bit chuckled.
"Dang it, Two-bit!" I growled. I felt tight arms wrap around me and pick me up.
"At least I know you can defend yourself!" Sodapop chuckled. I rubbed my nose against his lovingly. "I love you," he whispered in my ear.
"I love you too," I said with a smile in the crook of his neck.
