A/N: WOAH!!!! 1K reads?!?! This calls for.... Dun dun dun... Summer's end. Let's get started... ----- I held Sodapop's soft hands in mine as I helped him skate on the clear, thick iced over river underneath us. "Here, like this!" I laughed letting go of his hands and skating away two feet. The blonde did his best to follow. I giggled as he fell on his butt. "Not funny!!" He laughed with me. I nod, arguing with him. I was laughing too hard at his failure. I skate over to him and help him up. I look into his soft brown, "Watch closely." I skate forward and round in circles. Soda attempts to keep himself still while he watches me. His feet kept sliding around. I skate over to him and take his hands. "Like this..?" He asks curiously skating forward. I noticed how well he was doing well. I guided him around until I let go of his hands. Next thing we knew he was skating around. "Yeah!!!!" I cheer happily giggling. He laughs, getting distracted. He falls again, more harshly. A loud thud was heard against the ice. I tensed hearing the ice crack. I skate over to the blonde. "Move!!!" I yelped shoving him away from the collapsing ice. I felt myself plunge into the ice cold water. The ice block flipped over, trapping me underneath the cold coated ground. I felt my body weaken as I held my breath. I untie my skates as they were making me sink to the ocean floor. I kicked them off and swam to the surface of the ice. Sodapop pounded his gloved hands on the ice. I flipped out my switchblade, attempting to saw down the ice chunks edges. My eyelids began to get heavy. I let my arms fall to my sides and my body loosened. I was paralyzed. I stared at the ice. Soda desperately yelled on the other side of the wall. Darkness began to swallow my vision. I let myself sink down deeper into the river. I breathed out, bubbles forming in the water. My eyes closed, leaving me unable to see. My lungs began to burn like fire. I was suffocating in the water... drowning. A light shined in my vision. This was it... this was my end... I sighed heavily one last time. I hoped that even after years... I could still be with my Sodapop Curtis upon the stars into the heavens.
