I returned home with some fresh bruises and scrapes, nothing terrible. "Summer!" Ponyboy exclaimed racing over to me. He hugged me tight and my eyes widened. I hugged him back. "Thanks for saving me," he mumbled.

"Oh, it's nothin' Ponyboy! I can wrestle my cousin anytime, like I used to when we were young! Now, as for Richard. Pfft, he knows not to mess with me! You know why?" I explain ruffling his hair.

"Why?" He asked looking up at me.

     "Because I'm tuff," I chuckled.

"I could disagree!" Sodapop chuckled from afar.

"Is that a challenge?" I sassed.

     "Maybe," Soda smirked.

"You're on!" I chuckled. Soda and I stood face to face. We pushed the furniture aside so we wouldn't break anything.

"Ready, set, go!" Pony shouted. Soda shoved me to the ground and I landed on my elbow. I smirked knowing how to get a head start.

"Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!" I winced. Sodapop blinked and backed away.

"Oh my God! Are you ok?" He asked. I smirked and tripped him. He fell on his stomach and I leaned on his back.

"I think you lost," I smiled at him.

"Shut up," Soda laughed. I giggled and leaned over kissing him. I pulled away with a smile and let him up.

"Loser has to put the furniture back!" I called behind me. I dug through the dryer for my Dingo outfit for work.

"Not fair!" Soda whined. Ponyboy chuckled at his brother.

"I have to go to work," I smirked.

"I'll let it slide," he rolled his eyes with a smile. I grabbed my work outfit, went into the bathroom, got dressed, and came back out. I rushed over to Pony and ruffled his hair. Then, I kissed Soda's forehead.

"See you later!" I called behind me as I walked out the door. It was my first time working at the Dingo. I walked down the sidewalk towards the Dingo. It took awhile, but I eventually got there... Late. Hey, I could've been even more late! I'm just glad I stopped by the DX to ask Steve to drop me off. He had to work overtime. Anyway, I walked into the Dingo and everyone greeted me.

"So, you must be Summer!" A girl exclaimed.

"Yeah," I replied rubbing the back of my neck.

"I'm Samantha! Call me Sam," she exclaimed.

"Nice to meet you," I said. "So, what do you need to show me? I mean, when you get a job you need to know the 'behind the scenes'," I tried to explain.

"Oh yeah!" Sam giggled. "Follow me!" The blonde said.

"Ok," I shrugged. Soon after she gave me a short tour.

"Since it's your first day... Why don't you wash the dishes?" Sam asked.

"Alright!" I said. I then plugged the sink, turned it on, and added some soap.

"Hey, aren't you that girl that used to hang out with that... Hm... Dallas Winston?" Sam asked.

I gulped, "Yeah... He was my boyfriend."

"You should've kept him," Sam shrugged. "He's quite the hottie!"

"That'd be kinda hard to do when he and my brother died about four months ago," I explained.

"Oh..." Sam mumbled. "Sorry," she said.

"He probably didn't care about me anyway," I said. I started to ACTUALLY was the dishes when we had this conversation.

"So, what brings you here?" Sam asked.

"I got this job because I originally was supposed to keep my kid sister, Kat, but my aunt took her in. Since I had nothing better to do I decided since my friends usually hang around here that I might get to chat with them while I work..." I explained.

"Who are your friends?" Sam asked starting to help with dishes.

"Well, clearly Dally was. There's Steve and Sodapop, they work at the DX. Then there's Ponyboy, Soda's kid brother. Darrel, he is the eldest of the Curtis brothers. Two-bit, who never stops cracking jokes. Last but not least there was my kid brother.... Jo-Johnny Cade," I explained stuttering at Johnny's name.

"So they are those close aged greasers that are like 'mess with them you mess with me' gang?" Sam asked.

"Yeah, kinda... Unless you are talking about those hoods, even though Dallas was sorta one!" I answered.

"Cool, so are you like the only girl?" Sam asked. I nodded making an awkward silence. Soon we noticed that it had been about four hours.

"Five o' clock!" Diana yelled. I sat the dishes in a pile, on a towel, to dry. I then checked-out and walked out the door.

"Hey wait!" A voice called. I turned around. It was Sam! "I'm going with you... My mom isn't gonna be home until ten! Plus, I wanna meet the hotties you hang out with!"

"Did I ever say they were hot?" I chuckled. Sam blinked. "Follow me!" I laughed.
