It wasn't before long that the day's regular schedule played. At six o'clock I sat on the couch waiting. I held Kathleen in my arms and kissed her forehead. It wasn't before long that Aunt Laura came crashing into the house. "Summer!" She exclaimed. I carefully set Kat in her crib and stood up. I gave Aunt Laura a short hug and pulled away. "It's nice to see you got your own place away from your mom!"

"Actually I'm staying here with my boyfriend and his brothers..." I said rubbing my neck.

"A boyfriend! Ooh, do we need to have a conversation about boyfriends and-" Aunt Laura rambled.

I cut her off. "No, Aunt Laura... I had that 'conversation' a million times," I chuckled in a fake way.

"Oh..." She paused. "Well where is he sweetie?" Aunt Laura asked.

"He is probably working overtime at the DX," I answered.

"Oh, is he that blonde that everybody flirts with!" She shook her head and clicked her tongue. "You know, Eve is date that... Oh what's his name..." Aunt Laura announced.

"Steve... His name is Steve..." I said.

"Yeah him... You know you two should go on double dates!"

"Yeah... About that... We can hardly afford dates... Thanks for the offer!" I sighed.

"Well, why can't you?" She asked.

"We're the lower class..." I sighed. I loved to label myself as a greaser, don't get me wrong! But... I hated calling the gang that, even though we're all proud of our name!

"So you mean you are middle class, right sweetie? Not too much, not too less..." Aunt Laura asked.

"Aunt Laura, we're um... We're greasers... Only Evie is middle class. Don't get me wrong, I was alright being a Soc. But I'd more gladly and proudly take pride of being a greaser," I explained.

"Oh..." She said. I sighed. She picked up Kathleen and all Kat's stuff. She waved a 'good-bye' before she left. I sighed and there myself on the couch. I tapped my leg in boredom. I looked at the application I filled out this morning for the Dingo. I shrugged and snatched it. I walked out the door, down the steps, down the sidewalk and to the Dingo. It took awhile, but I got there! I nervously gave the application to the manager and walked out. I sighed and sat in the parking lot. Maybe I should go to the DX and check up on Soda and Steve... I nodded. Sounded like a plan... I rushed over a few blocks to the DX. Soda, of course, was working cashier.

"Hey doll!" He greeted with beaming eyes. I smiled and sat on the counter.

"Hey baby," I smiled. He kissed my forehead and rested his hands on my waist. His nose tickled mine and before I knew it he kissed me again. I sank into the kiss again and he pulled away.

"What are you going to make that daily?" I giggled.

"If you're willing," Soda smirked playfully. I let out another giggle. We had a long random conversation until he was off shift. Steve came from the garage and waved. I dipped my head and looked at Soda. "Did you walk here?" He asked.

"Yeah," I answered.

"That was kinda a far distance to walk," he replied.

"I know," I stated. A red curly haired girl with peach skin trotted into the DX looking for someone or something. My cousin... Evie. She glance at me with a smile.

"Hey Summer!" She smiled.

"Long time, no see, Evie!" I ran up and gave her a hug. She pulled away when she spotted Steve and she raced over to him. They quickly kissed and I walked over to Soda.

"Hey my Stevie," Evie giggled running her fingers down Steve's jacket. I looked at Soda slightly disgusted. He wrapped an arm around me and we walked outside.

"Evie usually picks Steve up for a bit after work..." Soda commented. "And how do ya know her anyway?" He asked.

"We're cousins..." I said softly.

"Oh..." Sodapop nodded. He opened the car door for me and I climbed in. He gently shut it before getting in himself. He started the car and looked at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing," he smiled before pulling out of the parking lot and leaving.
