It's been a couple months as I spent my time in prison. I probably deserved it. Next week I had my court date. Maybe, I wouldn't show up. I had been in jail a couple of times. Never in prison though. Prison was more harshly. I was suffering. I sighed at my thoughts as I reach under my hard bed. I took the belt and rubbed my fingers along the hard leather. I sighed and set it down beside me. I grabbed a paper and pencil.

     Dear Gang,

I started.

I know it has been hard for Soda without me these past few months. I'm sorry... I didn't mean to kill him. You're not the only one who can't stand this pain. I love you guys, but I think it's best for me to leave. To go forever. Away from prison, from the hose, from the world... I'm sorry. I love Darry and Pony as brothers. Steve as a protector of my dearest love. Two-bit as a best friend. Last but definitely not least: Sodapop as the love of my life. Eoom is running out on this paper. It's time for me to say "good-bye". I will miss all of you. I love all of you.

     Yours Truly,
Summer Rose Cade

My hand shook wildly as I had wrote the letter. Teas rolled down my cheeks. I grabbed the belt and stepped on the stool. I tied the belt on the light. Then, around my neck. I sighed and closed my eyes. I kicked the stool away as I heard footsteps. My eyes widened and it got hard for me to breathe. An officer rushed to get the door open and got inside. I lost my breath, and I passed out.

"Summer!" I heard a voice cry. My hearing built up. I heard beeping in the background. I groaned and weakly opened my eyes.
"G-gang?" I asked looking around me. I was going through this again. I saw Ponyboy sitting on the edge of the hospital bed beside me. He leaned over and gave me a tight hug. Sodapop cuddle up next to me and held me tight. Darry looked at me sternly, but with a dash of worry in his eyes. Steve stared at me from the end of the bed with Two beside him. I also noticed I was wearing my regular outfit.

"Why did you do this?" Soda sobbed. "You could have waited until court day!"

     "I-I don't know," I frowned. "I was being stupid! I was suffering!"

"That doesn't mean you have to make us suffer, too," I heard Darrel say.

     "I'm sorry!" I cried.

"Sorry can't fix everything, Summer!" Steve scoffed.

"I know it can't! But it's all I can do!" I shouted. "I was so flipping desperate! I couldn't see straight!"

"Clearly," Steve scoffed glaring at me. "I'm disappointed in you. I flipping hate you and your God dang actions!"

     "St-Steve don't you think that's a little much?" Two-bit whispered.

"It's fine, Two-bit," I began. I looked at the IV and tore it out. Everyone's jaw dropped or they either gasped. "Everyone is disappointed in me. No one seems to understand what it's like. Depression is a flipping thing!" I shouted as I got up. I made my way to the door. I opened the door then a hand tugged on my arm. I turned around and felt my knuckles punch one of the guys' nose. "Don't stop me, Steve!" I yelped as I noticed who it was. I bolted  out the door and sprinted out of the hospital. I raced down the street. Suddenly, I took a sharp turn into the road. I ran across, but I got stopped. I was stopped by a car. And I stopped the car, too. That night I lost a heartbeat. And my mom took my spot in jail...
