A week passed by for surviving in the same alley. Now I was walking around, carrying my suitcase. I sighed as I looked at papers put up on bulletin boards. I read them: Missing Child. Sixteen years of age, brown curly hair, blue eyes, five foot seven inches. With my picture on it. I honestly didn't care if I hid at this point. I had starved myself for a couple days, intentionally. Suddenly I hear crying and I turn around. There were three boys. One about fourteen or fifteen, one about sixteen, and the oldest in his twenties. I stared. I knew them. The Curtis boys.

"What are you looking at?" Darrel asked gritting his teeth. I pull off my hood and looked at them sympathetically. Darry's eyes widened and Ponyboy looked at me.

"I'm looking at the guy I fell in love with and his two brothers," I answered calmly. "If I can recall the oldest brother told me to leave. The youngest is like my kid brother. And the guy I fell in love with... I can't help but miss him," I explained. Sodapop wiped his tears away with his sleeve. He looked up.

"Summer?" He asked. I smiled. Soda raced over and gave a really tight hug, I winced. He picked me up as I held on to him tightly. I began to cry. I had missed him so... "I was so worried," he whispered.

"I'm sorry," I replied. "I went back to my mom's. Then I ran off the next morning." Soda looked at me and set me down. He rubbed my shoulders and I winced slightly.

"Are you ok?" He asked worriedly.

"Yeah," I lied. I tilted his head at me. Then is facial expression changed, I could tell he remembered about my parents.

"Roll up your sleeves," he said. I shook my head. "Summer, please," he begged. "You have to stop hiding this stuff from me!"

"I will if you take me home, with you guys," I said looking at the boys.

"Fair enough," Sodapop said. Darry huffed as Ponyboy walked at my side. We arrived home and I set my suitcase down. I sat on the couch and rolled up my sleeves and my pant legs. I tied my shirt above my stomach revealing all of my wounds.

"Are you happy?" I asked sarcastically. They just stared.

"Summer, we have to take you to the hospital! It looks like they're all infected! Did you clean them?" Soda panicked.

"No, I didn't clean them. I was in a rush! Also, I'm not going to a hospital! Not after I paid three of the bills a week ago!" I exclaimed. "Speaking of hospital bills... How's Steve's arm?"

"You paid those bills? How?!" Darry asked.

"I stole," I replied. "I stole from my parents."

     "Why?!" Ponyboy asked.

"I'm a greaser. It's what I do best," I shrugged. I pulled my shirt down and rolled down my pants legs.

"That's more of a hoodlum act!" Darry exclaimed.

"I get it from my dad," I said simply.

"No, you got it from Dallas Winston!" He retorted. I rubbed the back of my neck nervously. It was true.

"That doesn't matter," I said. "I still got the bills paid. There would've been no other way..." I stated. Darry just looked away knowing I was right. I grabbed the suitcase and opened it. I got into the satchel and threw the money on the coffee table. "That's all I have left," I said. About three hundred dollars laid on the table. Soda picked up fifty dollars.

"I'm going to use this much to take you out for dinner tonight," he said.

     "I'm fine," I said.

"I'm still taking you out for dinner," Soda replied. I sighed and gave in.

     "Fine," I huffed.
