Beckett
I watched as the waves crashed against the shore. The sun was getting ready to set and so was my life. The rope tied around my wrists were beginning to burn and the tape rapped around my legs was starting to make me sweat. Uncle Pedro was currently getting tortured in one of the shacks located on the beach, Juan was finishing up the drug deal and Sarah was sitting next to me, a gun pointed towards my side.
“Isn’t this lovely Beckett?” She asked squeezing my hand, but I wasn’t paying attention. I was miles away, in my own world. I was remembering the first time I met Evangeline. Her glowing hair, piercing blue eyes, the beautiful white dress she had on. I tried to remember every little detail about her. The way her eyes would light up when I made her laugh and that her ticklish spot was just above her hips. She also had a beauty mark right above her heart. All those little things were what I was going to miss the most.
“You know, I really loved you Beckett.” I felt Sarah let go of my hand. I looked to my left only to see her start to scoot in front of me. The sand was warm and unusually soft. I liked the way it felt, it reminded me of Evangeline’s skin.
“Beckett, please look at me.” I looked up to see her brown eyes looking somewhat sad. She had no right to feel that way. “I really thought that you were the one.” She said looking down at her left hand and touching her ring finger.
“But obviously the feelings weren’t mutual.” She was now playing with the gun she had in her hand. “When I found out that you were with her, I just had to see who she was; the girl that replaced me. And as soon as I saw her, I wanted to kill her.” She pulled back the slide and let it snap into place.
“I hate you.” I mumbled under my breath.
“Excuse me.”
“I! Hate! You!.” I yelled. She jumped back, a little alarmed. “You’ve ruined my life! You and your goddamn druggie boyfriend! Why couldn’t you just leave us alone? I was finally happy!” It drained me, the yelling. I slouched down in the sand and ran my tied hands throw my hair.
“Beckett,” I looked up to see Sarah stand up and point her gun at me. “I never stopped loving you.” She had her hand on the trigger. I closed my eyes, a picture of Evangeline in my head, prepared to die.
“Hold it right there!” I opened my eyes and saw Sarah, still holding the gun, looking to the right. I looked in the same direction and saw about ten men and women in FBI jackets and five men in police uniforms.
“Stop right there Ernesto.” one of the police men said in a heavy accent. I looked up at Sarah and saw her face; she was petrified.
“You know who that is?” One of the FBI agents asked. Unlike the others, her wore a suit and black sunglasses.
“That is Ernesto Silvio, one of the biggest drug lords in Cuba.” the officer responded.
“Ok then. I want the drug lord, his minions, the steroid junkie and the Goth girl to drop your weapons and put your hands above your heads.” I heard what sounded like a guns hit the sand. Sarah still had hers pointed at me.
“You guys take care of those rats and I’ll handle the girl.” Then I heard footsteps coming towards me.
“Stay away from us!” Sarah screamed. The gun shook in her hand.
“Come on honey, let him go. Put the gun down.” The agent had gotten a little closer to us when I noticed someone from the corner of my eye. I looked to see someone running towards us. As the person got closer I knew who it was. He pushed his way pass the agents and ran towards me.
